well that was the reaction my wife had when she saw me pouring something in to the trunk shortly after this pic was taken can you guess what I am doing?
and this is a progress this pic is old right now but I have done 5 layers of cloth with copious amounts of resin and 1 full layer of fleece just for added strength this is going to sit flush with the trunks floor.
not much for pictures but I will try to update and show as I go along...I have to install 2 12"s 2 1.5F caps and my splitter box and amp we will see how it looks I have to come up with a security measure like the last box had....they got in to my car and couldn't get anything because it was all bolted together and to the car so they ripped out a cap and nothing else....questions sugestions comments opinions rumors compliments or insults...all welcome
lookin good....i think ur making another spare tire well, so you can carry two spare's at once!
Go Premium, it builds character!
I used 4 layers of cloth for the bottom and did 8 on the edges since that is where it will be carried. I also used that really trippy looking fleece (the best 4 dollars could buy at walmart) for the whole bottom...I put a piece of 3/4" MDF (shaped like the wheel well cover) on the top and moulded fleece the whole way around...all that is left is putting fleece on the iside corners of the box to make the caulking effect on the box I should be done by the time I am working this weekend...score work 24 hours this weekend and yet get no better a paycheck....again questions are welcome.......by the way fleece soaks up a lot of resin so far I have used two large cans worth (I would estimate 60 ounces at least)
just so you know fleece or fabrics dont add strength when resin or at least not as much as fiberglass cloth or mat.
suggestion pick up some 1.5 oz fiberglass matting you can do less layers with it than cloth
but like I said check out the fiberglassforum for more tricks and tips

there already is...
if you're doing fiberglass inside your car, look in the forum titled "interior", and if it's on the outside of the car, look in the forum called "exterior".
yeah I know it doesn't add a whole lot of stregth but I will tell you that it is plenty strong..I was able to put my 30 lb child on top of the center standing and it doesn't cave or give at all...and since the box is going to have a port on the top I think it will be ok. I am putting a flat top of MDF let me know what you guys think
