well its back in the garage and now i can get to work cleaning the engine and some various parts and look into getting the engine dropped into the car. for the exterior for this year we shaved the door handles, the door locks, the antenna, the fuel door, the rear wing and then painted to match, i swapped the stock fenders back on then just sprayed it silver to match the car for now. i wanted to do more but funds are limited right now so its a little at a time. on with the pics for it. (oh and yeah the paint all matches up pretty good it was blended into the stock paint it just looks off in a few pics do to the doors being opened a bit so the angle is off making the paint to look two toned.























now for the area i went pretty wild with. im hoping to completly repaint the exterior and do the flamejob on the frontend of the car in blue. but for now i at least wanted to get the engine bay done while the motor was out. so the engine bay is going to look wild compared to the exterior but you gotta do that sometimes when your on a budget. im sure some of you wont like it, but im hitting the wild category at shows now so wanted to do something to draw peoples attention


valve cover was powdercoated black, then flamed up.



engine bay sprayed silver to matched then flamed up as well.



notice we had the yellow top painted to match as well.


he filled in a few dril holes and smoothed the seams on the strut towers



also have my work cut out for me because i went ahead and had him shave off the brackets for the fuse mounting location as well. i'll be extending the wires on everything and mounting it inside the car to help clean up the engine bay as much as possible and hide as much of the wiring as i can.hopefully it will help keep the engine bay way less cluttered.

I like it.
I first saw the flames and was like, eh, but I like it. Whoever did it is pretty good at airbrushing.
Realistic flame is so much better looking than fake flames IMO.

I think it'd be cool to see the block painted too, like just black.

Dude its gonna suck for us trying to drop that motor in and not scratch anything. But alas we will get it done without so much as one single scratch to that wonderful bay.

ok as all these pics were loading i read flames.. and i was really disappointed.. BUT OMFG
if u get flames like that on the car thats gonna be @!#$ hot. Hopefully the Eco is smaller then that 2.2 was cuz if not itll be hard to not scratch that paint.

OMFG that is sick J. O and Aaron with as many of us that will be there to drop that thing in I dont think we will scratch it . That is going to be sick this spring when it can hit the roads.

I have to say that's a very VERY interesting concept. If I was to ever move my gas filler that was always where I wanted to pull it... any reason why you didn't flush the lid a little further into the car?

The flame job on the engine bay is quite interesting, I'm going to have to see how this comes together for sure. One piece of advice I can offer, if you want to install the motor without scratching ANY of that, assemble the entire thing, accessories and all, remove the subframe, install it from the underside with the transmission attached, and then bolt the subframe up from underneath.
