G.T.C. - exhaust is finished and installed (pics and vid)

so to recap from the last post......

Darkstars wrote:wtf is this....... even the gay tan cat wants to know!!!

-Pacesetter Ceramic coated header -------> Thank you Turbo Tech Racing
-Magnaflow highflow cat --------> Thank you Turbo Tech Racing
-Dynomax Thrush 31" resonator - from Summit
-Jegs j-body 2.25" manderal bent catback (sold the gay resonated exhuats tip "mufler" it came with) - from Jegs
-Dynomax Super Turbo mufler - from Summit

once its all installed I'm gonna weld on a aluminized exhaust turndown (sleeper exhaust tip - looks stock)

the new updates..... everything is installed and finsihed.

Sound - I put the header in saturday night and the rest was installed today. Once everything was on first impression was holy @!#$ its completely silent! inside the car sounded exact same as stock, outside with the girlfriend reving it was very quite, like stock at idle and a real low pitched quiet rumble coming from the rear when you reved it. Well I had some stuff I had to get done today so I went driving around, to get eveything done, I ended up puting about 170 highway miles on it today. As I drove it more the sound started come out a bit more. there is a real low pitched drown inside, its not really loud, sounds just a tad louder then you drown you get with the motor and trans mounts. Noise outside livened up a bit. There is no raspiness what-so-ever, its got a nice deep tone, quite while cruisin and makes some noise while your getting into it. Over 5K rpm it gets decently loud, not attact cops from a mile away loud just a low pitched roar loud.

Look - Looks stock but new, full size mufler with a crappy looking turn down at the end, total sleeper exhaust in terms of llook, my only complaints about the look is the turndown sticks out alittle far for my liking, I'm gonna end up choping it down a bit when I get a chance (when I get off my lazy ass).

Fit - Fit is preaty good, the center section hangs down lower then stock which I don't like but didn't bottom it out once (and I'm lowered with sportlines sitting on stock 14's) didn't scrap on driveway or curbs or anything. I don't like the clunk, the muffler is big so there is only about 1/4-1/2 inch clearance from the top rear edge to the mufler to rear metal bumper, so big bumps makes a quite solid sounding thud, which is a realtively easy fix ( get some big heater hose, slit it down the side wrap it along the edge of the metal bumper where it hits and run a couple sheet metal screws, or rivets, in there to hold it to the bumper, that way it puts a layer of padding up there) but the fit is preaty good

Performance - At first I was like damn well that was a waste of money, didn't really notice a difference. Once the car get to full temp and the car had a little while adjust for more air flow it started to feel a bit stronger. Power difference at low speeds is definetly there but it isn't anything special but its real noticable on the higway, 60 mph and up pulls ALOT harder then before the exhaust, I didn't think just an exhaust would have that much of an effect. It acclerates harder and faster at higway speeds and seems to do it with alot less effort, feels liek its not trying nearly as hard as it was but still makes more power.

And finally the vid - 1st of all I want to say I just took a short drive, girlfriend stood there recording, when we got inside and uploaded it shes asked me what happened because my car didn't sound like that in person. The video sounds infinetly more high pitched then the car really does which is kinda disapointing, I was half tempted to not the post the vid cause its sounds so much different then it really does, it was recorded with the video more on a little digital camera so it doesn't pick up on the deep tones, makes it sound liek ass in the movie even my girlfriend had the fasce when she heard it on the computer LOL. But anyways........

right click and save as please

qestions, comments, opinions welcome.....

Sounds cool, very nice tone for a daily driver. You shouldn't get annoyed with it. Congrats!

Man that makes me want to get my exhaust done for Christmas. Do you think you could PM me with the exact part numbers you got? I would appreciate it because your exhaust sounds amazing, I want mine to sound exactly like that. I am gonna hit you up on AIM sometime, but I don't have time right now.

If the light comes on is there a way to turn it off, and make sure it never comes back w/o hp tuners?

sounds decent. wish I was close enough to hear it in person and also see the silver cav! I wish I would have went that route when I did my exhaust. prolly got the same amount in everything minus the header as I have in my catback alone.
