hey guys...thought id give a little update here. i havent been on the .org for pretty much the whole year. between work and school (and some big computer probs) this year, i havent had much time to do anything. all my free time has been spent working on a few projects for other people (which i am sad to say went south...so i get to give refunds, yay!)
anyway, i havent touched my poor car since like last summer (of 05, not 06
). the ONLY thing i have done productively is about a days worth of work over this summer. i decided i didnt want to go spoilerless anymore and initially i wanted to do the prostock wing, but then i decided that if i was going to do something, i might as well go the full monty and do something that i hadnt seen done yet. so i found a great deal on a wing from a 93+ trans am. so i got it, cut it, and started to mold it on.
My ass end last year:
Trans Am wing straight outta the box (the trunk is black because its a fiberglass shaved lid that i swapped off of my DD before i traded it):
Cut down to fit the cav rear. now its three pieces and sits much flatter and IMO flows much better:
IMO this wing looks better than the prostock, and i didnt think any wing ever would look better on a cav than the prostock. i mean, isnt it amazing how well it fits? on the trans am it was only the width of the trunk, but on the cav it perfectly hugs the ass end like it was designed for it. and before anyone asks or comments, neither the rear bumper or the glass trunk are bolted on. thats why there are gaps in them. both fit perfectly. anyway, since i dont have a garage and cant work on this until spring comes again, i thought i would post up some pics.
leave comments, good, bad, or ugly i dont care.

this was my idea a long time ago and I said nothing to be the first.......you stole it.....
j/k it looks sexy man looks like I will be right behind you for that one. as you can see my car still needs some more work and no, this picture is not current.
wow ben, i cant believe how well it fits.
i say certainly go for it. it has never been done before (as far as i know), and doesnt look bad at all.

I don't like it but it does look good
I lilke the side pieces wrapping up around the car. Thats about it.
what ar eyou doing with your other shaved trunk?!?!? I WANT IT..PM ME!
Ben that just looks sick. I cant wiat to see that finished
I like how it looks from the sides and looking from the front of the car. But, when looking at the rear straight on it looks BIG, rediiculously big.
that looks awesome! good find and job.
Sorry, dont like it.

that looks nice as hell! i hope you mold it, at least on the side. great idea!
i like it better than most wings on cavaliers, and props on making it and not buying something that everyone else has.
graet idea man, looks awesome. good job
Ben you're sitll around...how have you been doing?
I like the look of it, but it seems to be a bit too far extended back...but once it's all done and painted it will flow alot better...the black on red makes it stand out more however.
Planning on molding it to the car for a flush look?
That would look amazing with some widebody work built up over the portion that flows into the quarter panel.
Woooo bubbies.
