I know its been talked about before, but I just really need the pics of the cav with the v8 in it, I have a 97 z24 and I need to look at how that person did it, so if you guys could give me a link or post the pics that would be great, Thanks, Josh
seach under OMG LOOK AT THIS CAVY
or
WOW UNBELIEVEABLE CAVY
or seach the thread contents for phrases such as
oh god not this again
and
im so sick of seeing this car
If you can't figure it out on your own then you're not the type that should be doing it.
I can do it just fine, I just wanted to see what people in the past have done, I used to have a bunch of pics of the yellow one with the v8, I lost the pics and just wanted to see if anybody else had pics of that car.
search: V8 Cavalier
should find something like this(most recent pics i have..)
can I have your suspercharger while you swap in a v8
omfg... i want one.
hey anyone ever heard, if anyone is thinking of putting that fwd v8 thats in the new impala in a cavy? wonder if it would fit. sure would be alot easier then converting it to rwd.

I was toying with this idea when they first came out, but you'd have about the same problem as you would with the Northstar, fitment issues, and the engine being heavy. I'm sure it could be done, but handling would go way downhill.
Can we delete this thread yet....
he is looking to put the V8 in his older cavi not the new one lol
how about the v8 form a cadillac fleetwood thats a fwd with 200 hp
^ nope the fleetwood is still a rear wheel drive caddy, correct me if im wrong but the only fwd is the cts, but then you have it with the vette engine so back to rwd it goes

....wow
A 1990 fleetwood is fwd, also their was never a fwd CTS
I think he iwas thinking about the northstar out of a 93-..what evere STS..
Here is one in a golf.. So it can be done in a cavy.
The Northstar is too long to fit in our engine bay. If you cut out the fender walls you might fit it in, but I doubt it. Pretty much have to go rwd to fit a v8 in there.
the nineties eldorados were fwd v8 also
Jimmaaaay! wrote:well i was thinking it was the caddy catrea sorry about the mispelling on the name that was fwd but a v6
Nope, the Catera was RWD. It had a Opel 3.0L V6.

Oh I will.
Regular CTS is RWD V6 3.2 and 3.6 and the CTS V is the RWD V8
As of now the only model offered in FWD is the DTS and that is going to change.
the CTS caddy is FWD , cuz ive drivin one before and done burn outs with it , the Linclon LS is also FWD, i think the only sedan(4 doors) cars that are still RWD are the crown vic and the mecury grand marquie and merauder , there might be other but can only think of them 2
