My cavalier... Exposed

Ive never done this before, but figured since the car wont be like this much longer (like another month, two at the most), I would show everyone exactly why i hate the way my car looks and the condition its in.

Ill just skip the story about how I screwed it up and rushed the final stages of it since most already know the story.

But anyway, these following pics have circles and arrows pointing to the cosmetic errors and damage that has been done to the car in the past two years, and why I now have a secondary cavalier im working on to have as a daily driver.

heres some basic bottoming out damage.....

Now onto the spoiler...

The back end i think looks horrible... from the way the widebody ends, to the crappy design of the bumper, and everything in general....

and my god look how big that wing looks in this pic...

and of course the sideskirts are crap...

and damage from hitting the door because my solenoids are junk....

and how @!#$ty the wheel wells are due to not taking my time on them in the first place...

Go ahead and criticize it, i dont care...... Its being torn apart down to the bare chassis soon, and good ridance to the old look i say. Ill miss it in a way cause i had a lot of good ideas, but done all wrong and in a rush.

Its time for a fresh clean look and I'm excited..... Oh, and jason, if you read this, ill be ordering some parts very soon

Your car isn't the only one bro! Many of us who have spent tons of money got too excited and rushed things and ended up without a 100% nice exterior or top notch performing motor.

I know I rushed some things when I cut the bumper to fit 00-02 and now it's not all that clean around the headlights and corners.

Seriously though, because I cut so many corners in this car, I want to get rid of it, and start over with a fresh Solstice

I must agree with alias1429, although in my opinion the color choice was quite flamboyant, it was definitely some heavy duty custom work. I cannot wait to see what comes next. Good luck!

good luck on the next "look" for your car. You learn from your mistakes, so now you'll know exactly what you want to do.

your work is crazy custom dude. It sucks that it didn't turn out the way that you wanted it, but at least you learned from your mistakes. I thought the car looked pretty awesome just because it was something different and wild. I'll be watching for updates on the new look. Good luck

also, it takes a man to admit he was wrong and made a mistake
some people on this site will never admit that they rushed something or made a mistake
so you are better than a lot of people here

Re: My cavalier... Exposed

well i think most of that is expected when u drive a kitted car on a daily basis, with only a few exceptions (like fender wells...) but overall, i dont believe it is nearly as bad as u make it out to be. my car also has rock chips/cracks/scratches all over the place, due to daily driving.

I guess we can say we are on the same boat, my car is currently underconstruction again, and hopefully one las time, since i wont be driving it anymore after all the body work is done, so im hoping it can stay nice and uncracked from now on

ok..... heres the post on whats going to go on this winter....

heres my cardomain page..........

Mecksters Cardomain

and for the story, to make it short.........

I finished the car about two years ago. I worked a good nine months on the thing to get where it is. Basicly I was trying to finish it and get it painted before the 04 J-Bash. Regrettably I rushed it towards the end and the bodywork didnt turn out all that great, and I ended up with a product that looked unfinished, especially as the widebody is concerned.

The plan......... Simply to make the car clean, smooth, and still something unlike what the org has seen. Its not just going to be cosmetic either. The braking, handleing, and power are all going to be worked on just as much. I'm finally going to show people what I'm trully capable of without any kind of deadline.

I appreciate everyones honesty, I really do. It has actually made me a better person in the automotive world
