Blue Cav at it's first show - Need Comments, etc.
Sunday, August 06, 2006 4:40 PM
Well I represented the JBO crowd at a crappy show this weekend, had to compete against a bunch of old cars and did not win anything (see my rant in Off-Topic for more on that)

But anyway, I am gonna cool my jets for a month or 2 while I pay my savings account back for a bunch of last minute stuff I bought for it and get a few non-car-related things worked on. This thing has completely taken over my life for 3 years and I need to get back on track, you know how it is. I think all of us get burned out from time to time...I keep spending all of my money and time on this car and maybe I need to try other hobbies and interests for a while.

Let me know what you think of my ride after 3 years and also where you think it needs to go to become a winning show car. I'm gonna dump a ton of money into it next year and then concentrate on saving for a bigger house and my dream media room. All comments and criticism totally welcome!

Please let me know what kind of grade I would get when compared to the rest of JBO. I know I am being a total JBO whore today but I'm feeling down after my car show and I need guidance and reassurance that I am doing the right things...

List of current mods is after the pics.

Still looks good. The only thing I don't really like is the lip kit and I am kinda so-so on the rims. Everything else looks pretty good though. Keep up the good work and add some performance parts to that beautiful engine bay.

You mean the Sirius radio itself or the way its installed in my dash?

You can buy the radio online still, I'm sure (type Streamer GTR in the search box)

The install is all me and one of a kind (except for the guy I sold my old dash and silver Sirius radio to)

dude the car show bitch post you said your car was so custom and that you had 10-12 grand into it.

all you have is a cav with bolts ons a lip kit and rims.

i was expecting full glassed interior, full kit, bags, lambos.

dude....idk man.

It's a very clean looking car. Well, untill you get to the doors. For all the money you've put into that and with the looong list you have I'd expect something a little more radical. I'd say you've burnt yourself out on small parts.

i agree i was expecting something more drastic with reading your other post first...

your car is nice...i like it...stickers do nothing for the car in my opinion...but like i said your doing your car cause its your car...so dont lay your head at night upset because you didnt win a trophy...there really are more important things in life...

the car looks good though...just wasnt what i was expecting....but good luck and stay away from local shows without any kinds of classes...your just not going to pull a trophy from classics and muscle cars...ive been going to shows my whole life...and it just wont happen...

I like everything except for the hood standing up like a boner in the wind! I know you want people to see whats under your hood, but it looks pretty gay like that, drop it down a bit and you are golden!! Interior could use a little work, but it is nice none the less

wow i love this car. it's so clean. i was just wondering if you have any up close pics of the engine bay and the rear end with the trunk closed?

LOL "boner in the wind" - thats great

Close-up engine bay shots are in another thread - should be right near this one...

Should be some rear pics with trunk closed on JBO - I will look for a link...

I think it will all come together pretty quickly once I find my dream kit and start on my performance stuff. All of the little stuff is done and I guess I need to start the big projects...

Early 2006 pics with shots of rear

These are older pics but you can see the rear better as requested. Thanks!

see this is why you didnt win
you may have spent a lot on custom stuff and everything
but you cannot tell you spent as much as you did
which is kinda what i like about it
its not too flashy

exterior is looking good IMO. Start focussing on the interior and trunk, and you should be good.

Car looks really, really nice!! I love the exhaust! I know how you feel to about shows...seems everyone I hit I win nothing and I have more time and money in my ride that I ever, ever thought possible!!

Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?
