allright so here it is.... i have finally done the engine. I have done the 1000KM now since (took 1 week) and damn that thing pulls hard!!!!! i will go to the dyno soon to see whats the number.
i couldn't get the digital camera when i started so i couldn't get pics of the pistons and rods
(they were pretty)
next thing on the list is the paint job.... you will see on some pics why lol!!!
it will probably be paint in gunmetal.
i have built the engine all myself, that was a first time for me. (I'm not a mechanics btw) I have learned everything here on the org and the haynes manual help me alot too.
my friends helped me to swap the engine tho....
I want to give a special thanx to Karo at carcustoms.net that got me all my parts for the built and also Todd miller (miller performance) for the oil pan and for helping me out when i had question when it was time to swap my 95 ecu. THANX GUYS!!!!!
Also, i big thanx to the org since its because of you guys that this engine is alive today.
so this is what is in this engine:
HO inatke cam
HO exhaust cam
HO intake manifold
HO exhaust maniofld
086 head
stainless steel valves
10.5:1 wiseco .020 overbore (c/r with the 086 head)
eagle rods
2.3l oil pump conversion
the tranny was rebuilt last summer with FDR of 4.11, 3rd and 4th gear from the 2.2, team green lsd, geo storm bigger differential, spec flywheel and spec stage 2 clutch.
so here is the pics:
only pics of me since i was the one taking pics all the time....
here is a custom bracket i had to get machine for the power steering pump.

I also have a fuel rail painted red and polish with the AFPR, but since i haven't receive the gauge for the fuel pressure yet, its not on the engine.
I'll get some pics of it when its installed. (its a nice looking peice)
any comment, good or bad?
thanx

very nice work man
* * BIG FOR SALE POST * *

forgot to put the before pics of the engine from last year.... lol
awsome!! good work man
doing an engine swap right on the street, haha i know how you feel, i don't have a garage either.
I envy your friends and your knowlage of engines
yeah thanx, my friend helped me big time....
back in the time no more than 2years i didn't know nothing about engine, just read on here and the net.
got me a haynes manual and got all info i needed for that built and finally built it.
its not that hard, i just took my time.
Just by what he chose to do (086, etc) his car is spotless! get numbers before you get boosted (if ya choose to boost anyway. lol)
thanx!
this car wont see boost!!
I'm trying to get the most out of it N/A
to boost, i would have to change pistons again for a lower c/r which i wont... except if i ever get lotta money lol!!!!
i hope to get over 200whp from it.
engine looks hot
how much hp this engine should produce?
i see over 200whp, thats very good
i dunno yet, i'll get her dynoed soon!
we'll see....
Nice work on the engine
BTW, how do you like the 4.11's??? I have the same FDR on mine, and it works out pretty well. I would like to find a lower gear ratio for 5th though. Cruising around 3500 RPMS @ 75 mph

Pretty determined to do that @!#$ on the street.
I'd be a pussy and not do it, unless I had a garage.
Hope to see some numbers from it soon.
thats got to be the first engine swap on the street I've ever seen!!!!!
Awsome engine, cant wait to see what she dyno's.
Enjoy!

Awsome work man, really. Doing it on the street though, thats both ghetto and cool, cant decide which one though!!! If I did it on my street, I would have about 4 cops there in less than an hour!
Next challenge, do my engine swap on my dirt road.
That looks amazing! I wish I had that knowledge to pull a motor, completely rebuild another motor and drop that in. Boggles my mind.

I like it alot, but that is with the 3rd and 4th gear of 2.2 and also did the flywheel at the same time, so i dunno if its more from the ratio or flywheel, but i like it alot!!! only thing is on the highway, like you said 3500rpm at 75mph....
but i wouldn't go back to stock ratio!!!

i was scared for that too, but got lucky and i haven't seen a cop until the engine was in, when i was putting the intake mani and other stuff, 1 passed by, but he didn't even stop or notice anything, even if the hood was off lol!
thanx for the comment so far
she will get dynoed as soon as i have a little extra cash, that thing took all my money i had....
and i have to get a paint job too. also want to tune it with safcII and my wideband and get a msd dis2, and then i need to drop it, so thats alot of money in 1 summer!
wut did all that run you? $ wise?
btw looks amazing.
awesome man, great job, wish i knew half of what you know about engines and had good friends like yours to help me out with my car.
So you had a 2.2 orginally, now she is 2.4. must pull alot better now eh.....
