new sunfire to the org, lowered, hood, and rims!
Monday, May 01, 2006 3:09 PM
I purchased this vehicle awhile ago and havent really provided pictures of the car. I got it stock and lowered it on 1.4 Canuck Motorsport springs without proper struts (their coming soon, but I was impatient). Its got a Race-Tech ram air hood, 18 inch white ZEO wheels and a 2.5 inch exhaust. Unfortunately the previous owner put two white stickers on the rockers which will be coming off immediately. Other than that, I plan on getting the hood painted, and I have a little spoiler idea that no other sunfire has done before...you ll just have to wait for that though. By the way, since the hood is already painted white, do you guys think I should give it a red and white scheme? Like maybe two thick diagonal stripes in white with red.

You may criticize as much as you desire as I envy the phrase: "to each his own"..lol.

Looks very good. I'd paint the hood solid. No stripes. The car is very clean, and although I'm not a fan of red and white cars, I wouldn't change much on that. Maybe eylids before the paint, but that's about it.

Nice car man!

Looks like you got a good start, I'd say paint the hood solid and mold eyelids into it and when you get it painted paint the handles and mirrors. Keep it clean, do you have any plans for the engine?

Thanks guys...I guess I am keeping it solid red. And I may do the eyelids, but too many people have them. I will be making alot of changes, but so far other than the paint, the body is done (I despise body kits however lipkits are cool!). I need struts, which will either be AGX or yellows. And after that im going turbo asap. My brother is actually "Markeco" who just got his car boosted, so Im just waiting to see how his runs and then hopefully I ll start mine. I just gotta buy parts (oh cant wait to use my student loan for something im not suppose to use it for hehe.).

keep the comments coming, I apologize for the crappy pics, I will invest in a camera soon aswell.

I am either thinking of getting just the RKSPORT bumper without the canards for the 95+ sunfires or doing the samething Chris did to his black fire with the RKSPORT lip fitted to a 95+ bumper

I agree with everyone else about keeping the exterior all one color. In my opinion you should pass on the eyelids because so many people have them, but that's just my .02. I am not a big fan of white wheels, I think silver wheels would look better, but besides that your 'fire looks really good. Keep it up .

I couldn't agree more !

Looks sweet and I think you should do a 2 tone paint job with white/red with some black outlines.

btw nice wheels!

Is that me?

Anyhow, i like the car alot. White and red actually flows ok, if you can take peoples "candy-cane" comments. Maybe White hood, roof and trunk? With like a black separating line. I think that'd be interesting, i may photoshop it see how it looks. If you don't go two tone you might be able to pull of the rims too. I say do eyelids, but I'm partial. Then maybe performance time lol.

Eylids are killer on Fires, but if you want to stand out a little from the norm, try making them straight across, so that the hood has one straight line across it. I think it's been done before, but it's not common.

Looks good. Currently I am the only person with the Race-Tech ram air hood with eyelids. If you decide against eyelids I'd personally prefer that as I like having 1 of 1 hood.

here's a pic:

You've got a good start bro, keep goin.

Chris I apologize, but dont worry I aint buying the same bumper as you nor am I doing your spoiler mod. Seriously, your car was an inspiration to me, but hey take is as a compliment, you have good taste in cars and that hood looks amazing with eye lids. By the way, heard alot about ya from Race Tech, my bro just got his turbo done there (markeco)

and yup ryan thats your old hood!
