Amp install, new deck & home-made sub box & sub
Saturday, March 25, 2006 5:17 PM
Here are the pics finally, and thanks to all of you who helped me out.
My deck, door speakers, deck speakers, sub and other set of 6x9s are
all Pioneer. It sounds great. Enjoy !!!

I built a platform to mount the amp under the front passenger seat. The cutout
is lined with aluminum to let the air flow through and not over heat my amp. It
ended up being pretty tight to the seat posts but it worked out good.

This is my new Pioneer 12" sub. The wide side pannels are compartments
for 6x9s to be mounted facing the cab. I will get pics of that when I get more
batteries for my camera. The paint is a mixture of a normal gloss black and
a metalic green, so at night you only see green where the light hits it.

Here's the "new to me " cd/mp3 player I put in yesterday. My old one is about
5 years old and is still kicking so I put it in my girlfriends 84 Corrola.

Thanks guys, and I told my girlfriend no spilling or she'll find herself on the curb.
LOL She din't think it was too funny though. I will get some better pics of the box out of the trunk tomorrow or the day after.

I am wanting to buy a mono amp to power the sub, and then use my four channel to power all the other speakers, but I don't know where to put the other amp. Someone had told me before to mount it on the trunk lid, another on the back of the back seat (dont know if it'll fit between the 6x9s on the box) and another said in the wheel well for the spare tire (I still have factory rims for now). What do you think?

I put the amp under the seat because of how easy it is to run wires from there, and I also only need two sets of 6ft RCA's instead of two 20ft sets. It turned out pretty good I thought. Thanks for the comments. I will get more pictures when its nicer out.

Here are some better pictures of my box now that its out of the trunk.
They're a little dark because the lighting in my garage sucks.
