I got my sticky pod (check it out here.. sticky pod ) today and decided to test it out a bit with some driving

whipped up this quick vid to see what i could do with what I get from it.. it's gonna be pretty sweet I gotta pic up some more of these things as well as multiple cameras so I can rock different angles of the same action, and get a bit more excitement to my videos

here's the vid...

I think I'd be afraid to but my expensive camera on suction cups, but cool otherthan that

there's a safety leash that you can put around the camera should the suction cups fail

but thy're super high strength crap, and it holds up like 200lbs for hours on end or something completely inverted.. they dont hold forever, but they're pretty strong.

besides with the tether i'm not really worried.

the camera i had sucked tho which is why it went all white at one part and all black at another. I need a better cam that gives you control over the exposure

The fact that it has the safety leash makes me feel a little better about it. Seems like a cool product anyway.

magnaflow dual cat back

and a leak in the piping right behind the driverside door

its getting changed soon.. and this video was just a quick mess around testing out different places to mount the camera. I should be coming up with some really good angles and videos very soon.. 3 cameras are on my 'to buy' list as well as two more sticky pods.

Here is my set up:

^^^^^ how did you make that mount man thats neat...

pretty simple really.

Take your Defrost vent out. Cut/rip out the air direction thingy inside the ducting.

buy a small (mini) tripod from Mejier/best buy/whereever... they only run about 10 bucks.

disassemble the tribod. Under neath the swivle unit there is a Hex bolt. just take that bolt off and the legs seperate.

drill a small hole (large enough for that bolt to pass) into your defrost vent.
you'll want the whole to be drilled inbetween the slots. you'll know what im talking about when you look at it. And you may need to trim a little of the directional vents to get it to sit firmly in there. Make sure to put is as far from the window as it will let you.

you may need a washer. i can't remember if i put one on. But take that bolt and run it thru and thread on the mount.

you can mount the camera now, or wait till its in the car. with it being able to swivle you can aim it just about anywhere. so if you want it facing you, you can, out the windshield, roof (for what ever reason. lol), side windows, rear window, what ever....

and if you use a small camera like i do, you shouldn't have any problems. I recommend making something for the ass end of the camera to sit on. just to make it that more steady. just something you can wedge in between the dash, and bottom of the camera.
