I had a 99 RS that I was rebuilding from a salvage title, but then came across another car at the shop that we got as a trade-in.
I pretty much got this car for a set of 350 vortec heads.
Info on the car:
98 Z24, 122k bone stock.
Plans include:
R&R hood (already have replacement)
Paint (Black)
R&R motor+transmission+shifter and cables (current motor knocks bad at the #1 intake valves and the transmission is difficult to get in gear, already have motor+tranny w/70k on them)
New clutch
New motor+tranny mounts
New exhaust (pacesetter header, hi-flow cat, undecided about resonator and muffler right now)
Intake (cheap short-ram type)
R&R carpet and possibly seats (previous owners had small kids and didn't know what a vaccuum cleaner was)
17" wheels and decent tires
1.5" drop
New headlights/taillights/corners
I'm not going to put a kit on this one, I'm going to rebuild the motor I'm pulling for a nitrous application. Having seen all the cars running around with kits on, I think I'm going to go for a clean stock look (and that frees up money for the motor and juice
).
