Battery Tray Removal (PICS)

I've never really seen a "How To" post on this, so I thought I'd put up some pics. I'd also like to thank Nity9CavSedanCRJ (Cody) for assisting in the "surgery." If it's a repost, I'm sorry. Enjoy

^^^ When you're drilling, make sure you watch out for the wiring harness and hood release cable--they're RIGHT underneath the tray.

Most people could probably stop at this point, but because I need to fit (2) 2.5" tubes through this section, I wanted it to be a little bigger.

This is where I left it (for now.) The reason it looks so rough is that I'm going to make a plate out of stainless to sit on top of that entire area. Once it's cut to size and the edges are cleaned up, I'm going to put (2) 3" tubes in the center of it and trace around them(probably looking like a figure 8.) Cut the wholes out, polish the plate to look like our intakes, and DONE

Questions/comments welcome!

Ha Ha... That was a fun day! Wasn't too hard of a chore to accomplish... Except for the mess with the shavings I made when i yanked the battery pan the rest of the way out. ..
I see a few that i missed with the vaccum. I'll get them for you probably tomorrow night when we go back out to the shop. Can't wait till i can rip into my car when all the snow and salt is off the road.

SunfighterGT -

Yes. The intercooler I got for my setup has boost in/out on the same side. I'm gonna use polished 2.5" stainless tubing for the whole thing.
