hey if your looking to get your compressor housing polished shoot me a email at sleeper_z24@yahoo.com
No offense, but that turbo = uber junk.
I suggest you do some research on here and on google regarding Chinese turbochargers.
I'd also reconsider throwing that Chinese wastegate on there as well.
Let me guess, ~$350 for the turbo and ~$140 for the wastegate? Yeah, definitely Chinese junk that will eventually blow up.
Notice the seem down the middle of the compressor housing. Would you believe that's GLUED together?!?
tick tick tick BOOM!
Again, no offense. I figured I'd just share the knowledge so that you don't find out the hard way first hand.

if you think about turbo really don't last along time any way
your gunna have to rebuild them or replace them anyways
thats just my logic

Flawed logic. That's absolutely flat out not true if you know what you're doing with oiling the turbocharger.

Your prolly right
but a friend of mine used the same turbo for 2 years and is still running strong
i guess we'll see
if it blows up it'll be on film and every one will get to see
no worries
Well i have an $800 Garrett and it has the same seems and i know for a fact its not junk. Its just he way they have to do it!

You're wrong. The seam on a Garrett is a casting seam and the housing is one full piece. I have a real Garrett T3/T04E and a Super 60 sitting in front of me right now and I can guarantee you that the compressor housing is one piece. The crappy Chinese turbochargers have glue along that seam to keep two pieces stuck together. Gotta love it that they use glue on a precision part that has a turbine inside it spinning over 100,000rpms....
Here's a thread where I set some other guy straight on the turbocharger he was selling:
http://www.xceedspeed.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=39124&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=20
The superhonda link that's in that thread shows a ton of great pictures and has stories of people who have used the crappy Chinese turbochargers. Definitely worth a look.
TurboEcotec5spdSwap, I find it very hard to believe your friend's turbo is a Chinese knock-off. Why? Because China has only been producing these turbos for less than a year. I also think it's very ignorant of you to drop $350 (again, I'm guess here based on eBay pricing I've seen) on something that you know you'll have to replace. That's just retarded. Do it right the first time around.

Mr. Pute is pretty much correct! But I'm not calling BS on the turbo! I think it would be wise to listen though because anything coming loose inside that thing and shooting out will not only damage your turbo..........
A turbo clog has the capability to destroy an entire motor. That's why you hear everyone saying do it right the *first* time! But good luck bro!

Ok first you don't even know how much I spent and worrie about yourself
i havn't called you any names, and now your calling me ignorant
I prolly done more things to my car in one year then you'll do in 5
So relax and let me be
It's nice that your trying to help an all but your coming off as an a$$hole
i still don't see a problem with using a knockoff turbo, I don't plain on using it forever just a time being type thing
I'm not plaining on boosting high on this turbo so i shouldn't have a problem as long as i take care of it.

I didn't mean to call you any names. I apologize if you think that's what I was doing. I mearly was implying that your purchase decision and logic is very ignorant to the FACTUAL truth of Chinese turbochargers. They blow up due to quality. It's as simple as that.
As far as your "I prolly done more things to my car in one year then you'll do in 5", you've definitely pulled that comment out of your ass before doing your research on me and my acomplishments. Take a look at my registry alone and you'll see that you've been completely misinformed. You haven't been on this form for a year yet....whereas I've been around for over 6 years. Turning this thread into a pissing contest isn't going to get you anywhere.
The way I see it, if you keep that turbocharger, it WILL eventually blow up and we won't even hear about it here on the org because the truth I bring to you now will indeed become your reality. You'll probably be too embarassed to even post about it. On top of that, you'll probably lose faith in the performance of your car entirely and you'll drop out of the scene. I've seen it happen to many others before you.
I'm only replying to your post because I'm trying to help. Otherwise, I wouldn't of said a single word to you.
Do yourself a huge favor. Resell the turbocharger on eBay for $350 to some other guy and get your money back. I know you paid around that for it because you're not proving me wrong by saying what you've paid. After the sale, check out www.westcoast-turbo.com for some killer prices on turbochargers. You can pick up a Super 60 just shy of $400 and a beefy T3/T04E hybrid for $489 depending on if you're planning on building up the Ecotec you've swapped in. That way, you're not out of $350 when the turbocharger does blow up and you have to start over and pay over double (in total) over what you've already paid to get your system solid and reliable.
