Install day! @!#$ snow
Wednesday, March 01, 2006 3:14 PM
Michigan weather let up so a few of us decided to risk it, clean out our houses, and make the cars look a little more presentable-

The day started like this for me, I ended up repainting the wheelwells, did brakes, swapped in Tein Basics/new Monroe mounts, and tossed on the rims finally.......

As of now I need to get some bodywork done, sideskirts, fog lights, and I should be golden, the outcome so far..........

James and Nick have also been busy.....

Where ya at Gregg?

well....

heres my honest opinion on all 3 cars..

first... Joe.... ur tires still kill me, wheels are growing on me tho... and those splitters... i have nuthing but bad comments about those...

James' car looks amazing with those wheels on it.

along with nicks car, looks hot with wheels.

Joe its time to rethink alot of ur new mods...

but the new skirts u plan sound like a good idea.

Good deal, keep me posted.

As in wheelwells I mean mainly the suspension/brake components, just wire brushed them and trouch em all up with black low gloss engine paint.

New skirts as in the '03+ LS Sport ones? As about rethinking my mods, eh, I'll pass, I don't mod my car for other people, nothing implied there either. If the only complaints are some tires and canards I'll live. I like it thus far, tires are no more noticeable than on the Falkens really, you just concentrate on 'em too much.

His old wheels where sick, his new wheels are pimp. And set off the rest of the car more than the Falkens did..

keep it up..

MPO....

Also thanks for posting that pic with just the front skirt.. i'm thinking of doing that..And was not sure how it looked..(Also I relized that your getting skirts)

Yeah I had the SFGT sides and removed them this winter, plan on going back to sleek simple sides this year, hoping either IF or 03+ LS Sport sides.

The whole tire issue is that they're 215/45's stretched onto an 8" rim. Honestly I like em, while others may not, I've felt no real loss in handling/traction, besides the car is just my fun daily driver, no track whore by any means. Original worries were tucking them which currently isn't an issue, these wheels were only available in 17x8 in a 35mm offset and I wasn't able to find any other wheels to settle with.

Actually one of my friend's who has yet to get his wheels on is named Gregg, though I assume the fog lights arrived? If so, no problem!

finally get to post again! aight well... i like the changes joe for the most part.. i like the wheel/tire combo(makes me want 215's on my x8's).. i like the losing of the ambers.. im hoping ur doing something creative with your fogs.. canards would flow better if you had a more aggressive lip kit.. although i think they will grow on me..

BUT

i do have two things to say... 1) i miss the bronze wheel an 2) it still sits like a truck sell 'em..

hmmm..

Appreciate your opinions, I agree with 'em. I too miss the bronze, but I'm loving these more and more each day, though they'll never set the car off/be as unique as the Hanabi's, I've accepted that.

Losing the ambers was one of my favorite mods, dunno why, love the black ones all over again. As for the fogs time will tell!

I'll go lower, don't worry, I got some ideas/room to play.

Got some fitment on the IF rear but it's been on the car for a while now-

i like that a lot.. i considered going to ls front lip, 03 ls sides, an that rear.. hate to copy you but its a beauitiful combo.. the ambers got played out really quick, it was cool when a few of us had them, or one but yea.. dump it an maybe slight tint now that ur goin dark wit everythin

im with jason, I hate the cunards....looks good otherwise

Re: Install day! @!#$ snow

I do like the wheels, actually alot, but the stretched tires is not my dig....

However, I love the black corners, everyone jumped on the Amber bandwagon and is simply not appealing to me except on a few cars.

I love the import fighter rear, simply beautiful, altho what would make it even hotter is a shaved wing!

Import fighter sides would look great but I dont know if the front bumper, is thick enough to flow with it, that sounds weird I know but towards the bottom.

I am intrested to see what you do with the fogs...
