Some Winter Projects
Wednesday, December 28, 2005 10:38 PM
Alright, well some winter projects finally getting started. First to get done is the powdercoating of my valve cover. My friend hooked me up with all the supplies and helped me get this done. I really like how it turned out. A lot of people told me to polish it but everyone does that and i wanted something different.

Next I took out my gauges since im not boosting Also disabled my DRL's because I didnt like them lol, looks sweet rolling now without them. The J-Body write on it worked just fine. Then, took my dash piece and started to glass it cuz im going to move my nitrous switches. I have to thank Eazy for this since he gave me the idea After that I finally mounted the LS rear lip on my spare bumper. It will be getting paint prolly in the spring. Here are the pics. Bumper was just placed over the stock one to show roughly what it will look like

C&C Welcome!

Thanks for the comments guys. Ill get pictures up soon hopefully. Im waiting on a head gasket set to come in so I can put my ported head on. Valve cover will go on then.

Eazy: Only two layers right now. Is yours finished? If so how many layers did you end up putting on?

just make sure you drilled holes, and do a little glass on the back to keep it secure

Here is a small update. 4 layers down now. I think that's plenty. Im gunna start sanding, then I guess I put body filler on top? Im new to this process so any help is well.... helpfull. If i dont put body filler will it come out alright? I plan on priming it and then painting over the whole thing.

There is also a picture of the back, kinda hard to see but i drilled a bunch of small holes for added support. I think that's how you are supposed to do it anyway lol....

You dont 'need' bodyfiller but it makes it easier to get the texture of the glass out. It is also easier to sand and you will get a smoother surface. For being a beginner you can lay glass prety damn smooth Keep up the good work guys.
