no its because you alter the cars safety feature, the airbag. any vehicle equipped with an air bag cant be altered for safety reasons.

What about no air bag? Isn't that going to cause it to be illegal? Im not sure, just asking.
I have passed inspection in california without an airbag and they didn't say anything. Looks pretty good but I would of gotten a MOMO or Sparco.

I don't see why airbag wouldn't be optional. they are just now starting to do seatbelt laws, that would be kinda out of order if airbags were illegal to not be in use.

Becuz removing any safety feature on your car is illegal, especially airbags and seatbelts, but people do so obvoiusly it can be done and gotten away with.
