alright....as most of you know, i sold my fiberglass drift kit a few months ago.
almost immediately afterward, i got laid off from my job of 2 years
therefore i've had NO money
i've had this 03+ Urethane Drift rear sitting around for a while, so i decided to go ahead and
get it all prefitted before i get the rest of the kit.
so after LOTS of trimming (i had to cut the entire trunk liner piece out), i finally got it bolted on , and lined up correctly.
BUT WAIT...what's this?!?!
alright....i thought that urethane was supposed to have GREAT fitment, and require little or NO modification to install.
there's a good 1/4" of material missing here.
here's a pic of the driver's side to get more of an idea of how it's supposed to look.
(still not perfect, this is a pre-fit.)
here's how it used to look.
so yeah i dunno...any ideas or suggestions?? i thought it might be the altezzas at first...but there's no way having aftermarket tails would make such a big difference.
damn man that sucks not sure what to tell yea
Get some 03 tails and those will fill in the gap.

Thats why I like 'glass kits. If it not right, you just cut it up and rebuild it.
I would say to trim some of the lip that bolts to the quarter panel to move the entire cover straight up, or come up with some sort of filler between the lights and cover.
Yea kinda looks like the one for the 03+
I have the same rear bumper on my 97 cav. I got some 03 outers and put them in, and it "hides" the gap pretty well. cant even notice it's there. are you gettin the rest of the urethane drift kit?
since its made for an 03+ cav. u need the 03+ tails to cover that up. the kit is fine. (i think)
i dont agree (i think). it looks as if it doesnt want to fit at all. even if you do swap the tails. i dont know though. the rest of the figment sure looks good. that sucks man. i wish you luck and i wish i could have provided more information to help you out rather than just an opinion. oh well. good luck and keep us/me posted on how you overcome this obstacle.

i have a nice new bumper that would go great with that kit
question , guys.....
have any of you with Urethane bumpers ever noticed that when it gets hot, the bumper sags and gets a little out-of-shape???
wow dude, good to hear your back!
although i have not a clue about the fitment issues.

My buddie's '03+ Bomex rear did the same thing, 03+ outer tails are the easiest solution.
or heck, go and buy the RK sport bezel for the 03+.. it has the outter ring, that should cover that up!, and look prety sick!...

ya know, i was thinking the same thing
the rk c/f piece isnt that wide , so i dont know if it would cover it up
the lip on the 03-05 tails is pretty big from what i remember , so i know they should cover up that gap
also look on ebay , i saw a set of after market tails for the 03-05 models
Woah Woah..I have the carbon fiber outter ring parts from my carbon fiber bezel. Let me know if you need em! You got my screenname bud.
I know you prolly wouldn't want to do this, but can't you just barely cut across the side part of the bumper, and that will squeeze it up in there, cause it looks like the part right by your trunk is barely up there too.....just a suggestion, but that's crap that it isn't fitting right for a urethane kit....
NEW SIG COMING SOON FOR 07'!!!
My Blitz rear does the same thing. They sent it to me and until I saw this post I didn't really think of it being from a different year cavi. Mine is a 2001. I have that huge, unsightly gap in mine. Are ya'll sure the 03.05 outer tails would make that gap go away before I go and buy some?
the rk sport CF part isnt that big. sorry man. i dont even know how to help you. if for some reason you cant get Mark's let me know and i will send you mine as long as you retun them if they dont fit.
i thought you sold your car. im glad you didnt.
