Dyno Day at CNFX (lots of pics)
Saturday, October 15, 2005 9:10 PM
A bunch of us went out to CNFX today to hit the dyno and some of us just went to hang out and watch (me) I got there alittle late so if i missed anyone i'm sorry, that place is a pain to find, may i suggest a big flahing sign that says "CNFX this way!". I didn't run but those of you who did, great numbers and keep up the great work! I'll put down the numbers i can remember, forgive me if i make a mistake, PJ will have all the numbers for you all later. OK now onto the pics.

First is good ole QBE... (205 hp, don't remember torque)
I think i may have missed a run of this one frm getting there alittle late, but that was kinda cool when that pipe shot off.

Second is Nitro in his Z on spray. (203hp, again i don't remember torque)
Run 1: No Spray Cutout Closed

Second run: No spray, Cutout Open

Third Run: Spray and Cutout Open

Third is someone i don't know, but he was in a Saturn Redline, with exhaust (201hp)
i must say i was pretty imressed for this thing being almost stock.

Forth was Rich in a turbo eco. (225hp)
This one ran the best HP of the day his T3 super 60 did the job today!

Yes the wheels are spinning in this pic, i was actually able to hold the camera still enough to get a good pic.

Fifth is PJ, sorry man i only got one pic of yours cause that thing was killing my ears. (115hp)
Again this is a pic during a pull, don't believe me look at the gauges on the dyno comp.

Sixth in line we have Rodimus Prime (Matt). (163hp)
let me add this one made it interesting running on stock injectors he was getting an A/F of 15.0, on the edge of blowing up.

Hmm who next who next... O yeah! last We have Jay in his Turbo beetle, i have to give this guy props, he ran 221hp, 260 something torque, great job.
And wait till you see the flames from this bugger.

Again Great Job everyone i look forward to seeing you all at next months Dyno Day!!!

Yeah, that doesn't seem right at all. I've seen dyno sheets of people with stock 2.2/2200's that put down anywhere between 90-98. Seems odd he's so low.

Here is a funny fact:

The alarm company I work for, we monitor for CNFX...so if someone tries to break into there, we call the cops

Indeed Anthony.

By the way, you should call up here and update your call list incase there are bad #s or something and then you have an emergency and we don't reach the right people. Just a tip.

PJ is putting out about 20 hp over stock, with just intake, exhaust, and ported head as power mods.... stock cam, stock rockers, etc... not to mention absolutely no ecu/fuel/spark tuning of any kind. Beyond that his car was running hot (as usual) the whole time because he's too lazy to fix the bolt he rounded off and get the CORRECT thermostat in there (the one in the car now is HIGHER than stock). So with the correct thermo and maybe a little more fuel, i think the number would have been at least 120. Add some timing advance and I wouldn't have been surprised to see 125 or so, maybe more.

Not all, Rich beat me out by 3 and a half hp, and he's having tuning issues just like i am. My A/F ratio was WHACKED! 14.8 all through the midrange until about 4500, and then dropping down to 13.1 by redline... And if you look on my graph, everytime there was a rich spot in the fuel curve, the hp would spike higher too. Rich's car was just entirely too rich after 6000rpm, or he may have seen another 10 hp or so.

RaceSpecEcu Chip (beta version)
ModShack TTuned "Boost Machine" MBC
Modshack TTuned "Big Mofo" MAF housing
K03 Sport Turbo from a later model 1.8T
4.3V Zener Diode (clamped the MAP sensor for more timing and boost)
ECS Tuning Stage One Clutch and Flywheel (14 lbs steel)
Megan Racing 2.5" Downpipe
ATP Virtual Exhaust System (Boost-Activated Cutout)
317CC Injectors (From a later model 1.8T)
Eurospec Adj. Fuel Pressure Regulator

Keep in mind the chip I'm running is from a new company just starting out and it is tuned for a car running less boost with stock injectors and stock MAF housing, so its just some tweeking to the EPROM thats needed.

For those that don't know, i think the current record for HP output from a K03S on a 1.8T is 222 whp, so i'm incredibly happy that I managed to pulle 221 with such a ragged tune. Just like the records for fastest K03S Beetle and fastest stock chip Beetle, the record for highest hp from a K03S will be mine soon!

140 to the wheels would've been really low 15sec runs for him! So I can safely say my car has about 110hp LMFAO LMFAO LMFAO

N2O + Bolt-ons = 220Hp/250Tq

Coming Soon:HpTunersPro, EagleConnectingRods, WiescoPistons, 13sec2200

140 to the wheels in any base-model J body should be high 14's at minimum. Stock ecos dyno at 125ish, and we already know of several examples of those popping low 15's.

ECOtec POWER!!!!!

Well FINALLY after 7 months i wouldn't call them tuning "issues" anymore... more like tuning adjustments. THAT I'LL ACTUALLY BE ABLE TO MAKE YAY!!!!!

Now that i have a good idea what the power band looks like I'll be able to fine tune things and see what i get, but most likely by the next time it hits the dyno 9psi will be long gone muhahaha.

BTW Nice pics Oyyci.... Beleave me PJ's car gave me a headache too HAHAHAHAHAH

All in all it was an AWSOME DAY. Special thanks to Tony and his crew at CNFX. Hope to see you again soon for the next dyno day.

I wish man.... During normal driving about 20-22, If I REALLY behave myself then i can squeeeeze 25-26 out of her. That's under normal mixed highway and rurel driving.
