i was checking out ebay today for some parts for my sunfire and i found this for sale on there. I wouldnt pay what there asking, but that v6 engine sure looks nice in the bay.

Its a 3100 with teh 3400 style LIM on it...but the LIM does say 3100 on it...
yaeh its a 3100 they have those kind in the monte carlos and luminas...well ive seen them in those mostly, its not the same as a 3.1 mpfi its a 3100 sfi.....looks like a 3400 but its deffinatly a 3100
I have a 3100 in my wife's 96 Corsica. Wonder why he didn't do a 3400. The new 3900 is in the same family, that would be bad ass. 240 hp and 241 lb-ft of torque and a 6 speed would be bad ass in a cav.
That wouldn't be much of a show car with the way the top engine mounts are set up.

Dear god look at that hack job. Just looking at the way they mounted the upper dog-bone mounts to the rad support... ugh.
I sure hope whoever buys that doesn't plan to drive it because when that engine rocks backward.....

Slowly but surely may some day win this race...
the real question becomes.... its an 03-up car, that comes with a 140 bhp engine.... why on earth would you go through all that work of a V6 swap and use the 3100, with 170 bhp, when you could have spent less time and money to turbo the damn eco and make more hp with room to grow?
Other than that, yeah, it is definitely a hack job of a swap...

No, it's a 1998 that had a 2.2 OHV with a 03-05 front end swap. Besides HP isn't everything, the 3100 makes nice torque at a low rpm, it'll scoot a cav in a hurry.
