About 2 months ago I was driving going about 70 km/h when all of a sudden I get a flat...@!#$. I wasn't too upset this happens to people all the time and it's my first time. So I get out to change my tire to the dummy tire and what do I see. My rim split in 2 with half of it against the wheel well and the other part still attached to the car. WHAT THE @#$% !!! Now I'm pissed.... that's what caused the blow out. The quality of the rim looks to be really cheapy and I paid $1200 cdn for them. Now to top it all off now the manufacturer is blaming me for the broken rim and will do nothing. Now I have 1 broken rim and 3 others that I can no longer trust with my life. The company is Palmar Inc. and now I'm making it my mission to hurt their rep really bad until they live up to their policy. If anyone has rims made by them let me know because rims are not suppose to break like this ever.
Here are some pics:

how would that be your fault??
did you ever think that your tire blew out and then landed on the rim and thats what caused it to break?

I did at first but I think it happened the other way around because there is damge on the tire but it's on the sidewall no on the front part of the tire.
And still even if I got a blow out the rim should hold on or perhaps bend but not break in 2 like this.

i saw that same kind of thing happen to a brand new CTS. the part where the lugs are was still on the car and the rest of the rim was 5 feet away with the tire. and that was on the chrome wheels that come stock on the car
Same thing happened to my friends konigs. What happened to him was he went onto the shoulder and as he was pulling back on there was a 2-3" lip that the concrete jumped up because the shoulder for some reason was starting to sink down a little. When he was driving up onto the road again the wheel caught on the lip before the tire did and it cracked all the way around just like urs. He was going about 50 when it happened. It doesnt take much to break a rim like that, Im guessing your tire popped or blew the bead and somehow came off the rim a little and the rim hit the concrete.
Good luck with whatever happens though, hope you get refunded.

Actually NO.... I wish. I got these thinking I was getting Mr8's because that was the pic they showed me in the catalague but I got these. I said all well they'll do I was anxious to put my ride on the road. I've had problems with these rims ever since from the coating peeling off to this. The name it says on them is Attitude. Not sure if it's the brand or model. The only attitude rims I find on the net are Ultra "Attitude" rims. They are not those.

You need to not settle for what they're saying. Talk to a lawyer if you need to. $200/hr lawyer vs. $300 rim...make their life hell.

this is just my two cents .. but from the looks of the 2nd & 3rd pics its looks like you hit something with it .. Pic 3 looks like there is a dent on the edge. and pic 2 you can see a chunk missing from the side .. the rim looks like it is a cast alum rim.. (weak) .. these are easy to break . But still just my two cents .. And it still sux that it happened ..I hope you /everybody & the car is OK
yea I wanted to get the MR8's for my car but I ended up gettin the American racing type SR wheel wich is 1 spoke off the MR8. sorry to see your miss fortune give em hell man!

I took a curb on myb old steelies @ 15km/h once ... the tire blew out and the rim had no damage whatsoever.. this does not look like his fault to me.

steel > weak ass aluminum
its his fault
holy sh*t man, i hope you and the car are both alright. and i doubt it was your fault man, as you say you were just driving and realized you got a flat. you didn't do anything and the rim broke and risked your life. get on the phone with them and tell them you've got a lawyer!
Blown.

You sound like the manufacturer. I keep telling them I hit nothing but they won't even consider the possibility. It's cheaper and easier just to say it's my fault. Also I would think that aluminum rims
should be able to take a blow out.

Whats his fault? The fact that something beyond his control caused his tire to deflate inturn causing the rim to impact with the ground and shatter it. Youre making it sound like he placed a nail or screw in the highway and then ran it over at 70 km/h. A goddamm rim shouldnt do that no matter what its made of. Obviously there was fatigue or a defect in that particular rim and the dumbass company needs to recognize it so no one else has that happen to them and ruin their car or spin out and kill theirself or innocent oncoming traffic. Id go to the @!#$ing news if I were you, besides contacting a lawyer.
Ya fight this issue tooth and nail, maybe see if u can get the other 3 rims and tires stress tested if u can some how. Maybe it's the rim that is weak and a test will prove that.
get a lawyer, and create a huge stink
