Was it your rear tire?

The front tire can kick the nail up and the back takes it in the sidewall.

it actually isn't all the uncommon for nails to end up in the sidewall area like that on rear tires. i used to work in a tire garage and we'd haveclose to a car or 2 a day with nails in that exact area.

when you are driving, the front tire kicks up the nail, and the force that it's kicked up with is strong enough to allow the nail to enter the sidewall of the tire... sidewalls aren't exactly the "strongeest" or "thickest" part of a tire anways...

as for the warranty... ALWAYS a good idea to get warranties on tires... even if you don't end up needin to use the warranty, they always give you piece of mind incase something does happen. i have the BF Goodrich scrocher T/A's with the yellow tread... something happens to my tire and i'll be spending around $750 for new tires because my tire is no longer manufactured... GG BF Goodrich!

good thing u got that warrenty... tire warrenty is prolly the only warrenty worth paying for...

i had a nice nail in my front tire on my old tires and that thing was in there so good it didnt leak air at all... you could actually see the head of the nail wearing down over time... i just replaced the tires last winter and had a nail in one of the rear tires... i have no luck i usually always get nails in my tires...

screwy stuff can happen to tires...I once hit a 9/16 wrench at 55 mph and blew out my rear passenger side tire on a 91 Dodge Dakota lol

I wish I would have took pictures of that thing!

There is no way a warrant should cost 25% of the product. You got lucky, that you bought it this time, but it has now just broke even, you still need to bust another tire before you come out ahead.
WTF tire do you have on there that costs $200 USD. they look like Falkins.
When you think about it 25% means that 1 in 4 tires will fail. Would you bu a product that has that failure rate? Obviously the comapany is making money on the fears of the consumer, but what else is new.

actualy $25 is not 25% of $200 but ok.....and why wouldnt low profile high performance 19 inch tires cost $200? the tires on my 18s are about 170-180 each....

On the other hand....you have other fingers.
