Headunit and amp install
Wednesday, August 24, 2005 11:06 AM
Here are a couple pics of my new headunit. it's a panasonic cq-c7301u. Awesome deck for sure alot better than my XPLOD.

Now I need some suggestions as to how I should clean up the nasty wiring job I did here. I was in a rush to get it done so i had my highs and my lows. NO mids by the way.

Please leave me your comments and compliments.

I would say mount the amps and the cap on the back of the box and drill holes in the box so the wires come out right where the amp connections are and them silicone them in so there is no air leaks or you can leave the setup and use wire loom to make it look alot cleaner

Looks like you need a bigger amp. Doesn't look like those subs can be getting enough power out of the amp you have them hooked up to to be tapping there real potential. Otherwise it looks good.

id pick up another amp. i dont like running more than 2 subs off one amp. dont mount anything to the box. imo it doesnt look good and depending on the amp if your seat is up, it might not have enough room for air

Alpine listed the r's at 300 RMS and i have 3 so thats 900 and the amp is 900 RMS at 2 ohms and thats where I have them at. I would preffer around 12-1500 RMS to them but it does pretty good now. No problems with it shuttin down so far. only good sony I've had.

Not trying to be a dick or anything but sony amps kinda suck. It says 900w RMS but I highly doubt that it actually puts out that much power. I think they grossly over rate there stuff.
