LOL i miss that, i used to have that . how is the quality of the bass my buddy wants to get a couple of those and i have never heard them.
those subs are awesome! and i thought i would never go kicker either.. when these subs hit, they hit hard; with attack man.. crazy!!! but the only thing that i kinda dont like is that when im goin to enter my car in spl contests, since there is more airspace needed than for round 12's, they are put in a class that would have 2 15's not 12's ... but oh well.. the last couple of shows that i have been to b4 i got my stereo put in, no one hit over 141.. my car is hitting 146 w/ the doors closed, 150 with the windows down... so i should be walking away with something at shows.. if only i can find some local ones b4 the summer ends
but other than the class, im more than satisfied with the end product..
thats because there bigger than 12's have one 12 l7 is like have a round 15 sub. a guy i work w/ has one of the older versions ( the black ones) and that one is loud enough for me.
i dont believe you are correct... the surface area of the l7 is equal to like a 13.5" sub if i remember correctly.... they are too bling bling now... way to much money ( could buy better for the $$)
150? Doesnt sound right to me......
Aieee
they are the same subs i wanna get ... how do they sound?
yikes!
i think ican hear you from ontario!

Nice Man, I've always been a fan of the solobarics. I have an old 15 L5 and love the way it sounds. The 15 still hits pretty hard even though it's a big speaker. I'm powering it with a 750 watt RMS Rockford Fosgate Punch amp. When I built my box I had kinda the same Idea with the spray in bed liner. Mine didn't work out too good though cuase I tried using the stuff in cans and it doesn't really spray on too thick so you can see the screw heads through it and what not. I figured that it would look better than just painting the mdf and eisier than carpet. The carpet in my trunk is full of the stuff now cause it kinda rubs off the box a little. I'm thinking about redoing my box now maybe I'll try the thicker rhino liner stuff that appears to have worked good for you. Any way nice set up. The pic is of my speaker and the box before I kitted the car.
Check out my Cardomain Site
yeha this was sprayed with an air compressor, and im not sure exactly how its birdged, but he pumped the @!#$ out of the amp to the subs for me.. he put my car on his meter and thats what i hit. i knew i was goin to be in a different class than just round 12s; im not complaining., im just happy i have the loudest system in my town! haha j/k. but i love my new system
wow, quite a setup you have there. lookin' good.
Damn Sara, you got some "Big Girls Toys" now. I'm proud of you. Maybe we can finally see them in person at the next meet...you going?

150-155 is not uncommon for L7s , anyone that competes knows that
1989 Turbo Trans Am #82, 2007 Cobalt SS G85
with 2 L7's you will be in the same class as any other 2 12's i don't know who said you wouldent. i really don't think you will do 146 at a dbdrag event with the windows closed the L7's need a little over 3 cubic feet each for spl and that box looks around 3-3.5 cubic feet plus the little ass ports will probley give off one hell of a port noise.
i say with that amp you might get 142. when i had my single 12 in a spl olny box facing into the car with the trunk sealed off and 2500 watts i was doing 143.7 on the new mic. so i know your not going to get any louder with a box that's made a little to small, no port area, and not much power at all.
This is what i dont get, im running 250 watts w/ 2 12's and getting 140.9spl. People are running 4x or more power and hardly getting more than 5 db's on me.
well, this box is huge and there are many ports at the end; u j just cant see them quite well. well as soon as i can get to a local show (maybe atco in august) but as for the meets, i probally wont be able to make it to junes, due to im house sitting for 2 weeks right now in june and i wont be back till the end of the month.. but i will keep my hopes for july as long as nothing bad happens
if there are many ports then I salute your installer. Multiple ports are a pita to work with. And your installer probably wired it up to a one ohm load to achieve max output from your amp. so 2 DVC 4 ohm subs is very simple to do. Sara if you are doing a 150 I'd like to get on that meter where at in jersey. I'd like to see what my dinky 15s can do on it.
Fast Fosgate: there are different meters: Termlab termpro classic Linear X B&K goldline Audiocontrol 180 and audiocontrol 190. Many of them can be manipulated to read higher scores than what you actually hit. The onl;y one that even really counts anymore is the Termlab. Let's put it this way. My car I will guestimate does a 148 termlab now. now on the AC180 that very easily could be a 157. And is over a 150 on all the meters mentioned. BTW if anyone would like to knock my 148(it is a guess) bc I have a wall with2 15s and 3 kw plus, You are more than welcome to grab the passenger seat. If you feel brave go head and stick your head up on the dash. Just please aim outside before you hurl.
