ANY comments i want huh? ok here is my 2 sense...

The workman ship is very well done... to test your skills thats great... to actually put on a car? that so rice its not even funny... Carbon Fiber is light to take some weight off the car! your gas lid? why? just cause it looks cool? <--thats RICE or maybe cause you just gained .000000000001 horses?

you wont catch me that on my car thats for sure... nor on the handles...

Well there might be more future plans for the c/f on the rest of the car to complete the look. Alot of people use c/f for show purposes to.

Ben: It looks amazing, you know im loving it

the point wasn't horsepower, but i guess style and some people are obsessed with how carbon fiber looks on their car. Personally, i think thats tacky as hell, but its not my car.

If people, myself included, are going for the 2 tone look with carbon fiber, its an addition, personally the gas lid sticks out a little too much for my liking, but not everyone here is 100% about gaining hp. Sure a hood reduces weight, i know i didnt buy my hood for weight reduction though.

Yes... But you have to realize the kind of people your talking too. Its a j-body, not a racecar, most of the people that would click on the link, don't care about the performance gains, they just want a look. Of course, there could be other reasons too. I'd like to have the carbon fibre door sills, not becuase of the look, but the factory ones get all scuffed up and look like @!#$.

i like it...on a black car though it doesnt look good..

and frank ....did you attack your car with 40 grit sand paper or what is with all those scratches and stuff

Re: carbon fiber gas lid pics
Friday, June 03, 2005 7:31 PM
Umm....I guess it's a good thing you guys can't see the rest of the passengers side!!!
I actually attacked a guardrail and a lightpole....but not at the same time.
I still have the yellow paint on my passenger side door from the pole. I like to tell people that I hit the wall at Daytona.

The gas lid looks great...especially if it is matched with the right accessories.
As for the ignorant @!#$ post above, pull your head out of your ass.....it's a Cavalier, not a freakin F-1 car.

cavie freak: yeah i remember that. lemme know if you ever need another one

frank: hope ya didnt mind me postin these pics of the test fitting.

johanna: everyone is entitled to their opinions...thats why i asked for them. however on this site we have exhausted the topic of "rice" and how the term is misused. you dont have to like it...its not for everyone...but you should think about using a new term. you will gain no friends by tossing that word around so aberantly.

yes carbon fiber was originally used for its light weight and strength to weight ratio, but as we have all seen in the past few years....there is a great demand for carbon fiber to be used cosmetically. why? just look at how it shines in the sun. when i got my first c/f hood years ago people would just stop and stare at it because it looked so weird. now its common place to see nearly any style/make/model of car with a carbon fiber hood. but those hoods and trunks need other items to go with them, and by making these other items i am filling a niche. one piece by itself might look out of place, but when its all tied together it looks good.
