Well after a long over due wait for some new shocks for my lambos I emailed Joe about 2 weeks ago regarding a set. Well today guess what came by my house? That's right, UPS came to my house with the lambo shocks...woo hoo that and c/f what a day
.
Anyways, my previous 720 vdi shocks were starting to crap out on me...especially my drivers side. So I ordered some 850 lb shocks instead. I'd rather have my door stay up in the air, than fall 1-2 ft
.
So I decided to strip the car and get at it since I have to attend a car show on saturday morning with my club.
this is a shot of the new shock installed

and well this is off topic, but here's a pic of my new battery
man I love this thing. I know i know, the yellow stands out like a soar thumb, give it time and it shall be painted!

Let me tell you. The mms shocks fit like a glove on my current setup. Easy install, a quick unbolt, re-bolt and I was good to go.
Now when the door is opened, the door shoots right up in the air and stays in place!!!
Thanks again Joe. I'm telling everyone Modified Motorsports is a great company to deal with, very fast responses, questions answered asap, and Joe is a very friendly guy. Thanks again man...got the shocks to me in time for the show, and i really appreciate it
850? holy hell i hope your a body builder
Nah, the weight of the doors with everything added makes up for it, My 750 are just right with my fiberglass door pods and components and fishtanks and ect
Altho anyone notice how temperature affects the gas struts? or is it just me.. when its 40-50 outside the door shuts with the push o a finger..when it was 88 today i had to musle it quite a bit..hmm
Sweet man!
yeah my 750's work great but 850 is alot
You also dont have fiberglass work, tv screens etc in your door like Vince.

yea with all that fiberglass work, tv, and added speaker it added soem more weight to the door. Come fall time, there will be exterior body work added to the doors aswell...not that much though.
SpyderWizard: yup the colder weather affects the shocks alot i find. On really cold days in winter time the whole door would just come back down, it couldn't even stay up in the air at all! but when it got warmer out it was able to go up alot better and stay up pretty good. I noticed it when i got my exhaust work done. My doors couldnt stay up at home in the garage b/c of the cold...after being in the shop for 8 hrs that day my doors were able to go back up again.
hey vince, theres a guy around here who has a blue top Optima, it looks awesome.. you should look into it before you paint it.. just a suggestion... car still looks sick.. nice job..
