oh damn. How long did all that take. Hopefully it will pay off. How much weight do you think you took out?

you have too much time on your hands
You left some wires in there. LOL
Uhhh....Thats a LOT of time to remove all that just for a few miliseconds on your time. lol. I woulda just done the door panels spare tire and extra seats, thats just me though.

I plan on doing the same thing to beat a friend of mine who runs the same times as me in a focus svt. hehe, if you're to cheap to buy mods, throw out the dead weight! hell, simply removing the spare and jack helped my times out a little
<img src="http://img53.exs.cx/img53/3803/sig21ps.jpg" width="388" height="197" alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us" />
and you left the clear plastic on the doors? LOL
reminds me of that gutted b18c5 crx that terrorizes the streets here..i hope you get good times.
as one who has taken apart many interiors and recently just put mine all back together, i can tell you that anything past the spare tire and extra seats are not worth your time and hassle to put back on. everything in the interior besides the spare tire and seats combined weigh no more than 35 or so pounds. Yes every bit of weight helps but going by power to weight formula yo earn about 2hp from eveyrthing past the wheel and seats. hope you pull some good numbers, post em when ur done
why on gods green earth would you pull the carpet out?
dude i could see taking out the seats. but for the whole 100 lbs u saved witht he other @!#$, no way in hell worth it.
-Borsty
jeez... why didn't you just take out the engine and try pulling it?
Does it still rattle like every other cavy on bumpy roads?

Our carpets are surprisingly heavy. They have a little bit of weight to them, atleast my '95 did when I gutted my interior.
Have fun at the track man.
Have a good one,
Justin
BEWARE THE WHALE TAIL
you forgot to take out the rear panels lol
either way....while the interior is out you might as well paint it

I did that same thing when i went to the track. Stripped down the ENTIRE interior to bare metal. Driving to the tracking i noticed a substantial jumpiness of the car as well as stopping power.
However it was loud as hell inside the car and very uncomfortable and impractical in any other situation.
But good luck at the track!
He even took the little fuse cover off! hahaha!
The "little fuse cover" comes with the dash end caps when you take them off... so... it's not like he had a choice
Good on ya man... but I'd have pulled the rear panels, the entire dash (right down to the firewall) and the noise dampening pads on the firewall too!!!

You did all that and didn't pull the bags too. lol Safety issue or not theres some weight to lose there.
