Well, since I got out of work early today, I decided to put my upper mount on. I got it yesterday, but had to go to school last night so i didn't have time to do it. Anyway, install was so easy. The vibes are kind of funky, but it is worth it--besides, it doesn't shake as bad as my old 2.2OHV (go figure). Definitely worth the money.
I have a few other things coming within the next week:
--Intake for my girl's Cav
--Muffler for my girl's Cav
--New muffler for my car
--Short Shifter
--AEM Clutch fluid reservoir relocator (I will definitely post pics of this as I have had a hard time finding some decent pics)
On to the pics (engine bay is dirty--haven't got the chance to clean it yet)
How difficult was it to install? I ask because I will be getting the lower and upper mounts soon and just wondered what I've got to look forward to.
It was ridiculously easy. All you have to do is support the engine with a jack (use a piece of wood between the jack and the bottom of the engine), take out the bolt holding the coolant reservoir in and move that aside. Then take off the mount, put the new one in and replace everything.
How bad actually are the vibes? Does the dash rattle or shake?
the dash only seems to shake when I am starting out. Cruising, it doesn't really shake. I know my old 2.2 OHV used to shake like crazy even when at a stop light---whole dash would feel like it was coming off. This isn't too bad though. Noticeable, but not too bad.
sweet thanks. I'll be ordering both the upper and lower mounts soon. how bad would the shaking be with both?
I have both. it is not that bad. Having had the lower mount before I bought the upper, I would say most of the vibes you get come from the upper. It is really not that bad. Definitely worth the gain I will hopefully see at the track in 2 weeks.
