End of winter update....
Sunday, March 27, 2005 1:19 PM
Well, its been a long long winter and thankfully it seems like it is starting to come to an end. I haven't really done anything with my car this winter, which is a first for me. The new motor has been my project lately and hopefully i can get a transmission for it soon.

Here are a few pictures I just took recently. For those of you who dont know, I sold my old motegis and ive been rockin the stock Z wheels for a while now. I have a set of 19's, just dont have the tires yet.....

I just took these following pics today, and it just pisses me off that I spent the time and money on this crap. For those of you that are considering cheaping out and getting crappy coilovers off of ebay, look at these pics and rethink your plans. I bought these and installed them about a year and a half ago on KYB GR2 struts and shocks.

These first 2 pics are the front coils and struts. They are compressed and have sagged so bad that they hardly have any travel at all....

Front drivers side....

Front passengers side....

I'm screwed when I put that heavy supercharged V6 in there. You so much as hit a little bump in the road, the coils compress fully and the ride is hell.

Heres the rear drivers side which is actually the better of the 4.....

and heres the rear passenger side which is the worst because the shock is actually blown...

This summer I plan to either get the koni/ground control combo, or the new Tein setup. I may even just get the koni yellows and goldline springs so I dont have to deal with coilovers. But yeah there you have it, it sucks, I was stupid as all hell for buying them. Hopefully this prevents some people from buying them.

have i ever said that your car is beautiful? mind you, there are some things i don't particularly care for...i/e/, shift knob... but my opinion matters nothing to you.... sexy car! I'd also do something with the corner lights to flow better with the evil eyes.... Great work and keep it up!

No matter how much I like the interior, or the list of body mods, I really think your hood is not doing your car justice. Not the entire hood, just the shape of the eyelids. For some reason the lines those give off, dont' match the rest of the car.

What have you got complete at this point with the 3800sch? Is it almost ready to go into the hole? Is it gonna be in for the bash?

Now for the comments: Get airor springs, something that will not destroy the car. Get a parking spot available for me, james, and lee to park beside you at the bash (aka our own third gen v6 section) lol. And other than that the car looks great as always.

Meck-Car looks good as allways, minus them coilovers.

If you go with Koni and goldlines im sure you will like them. I have them and way better then what i have ridden on in others cars.

I hate to break it to you guys, but I wont be making it to the bash this year. But next year is a different story, no matter what happens I'll be there, I just cant make it this year though. I know it sucks and I wanna go bad.

The motor project is going slow at the moment, I can't even start on the frame untill I get the transmission. As far as the motor goes, right now its going under a rebuild from the bottom up. All the gaskets, seals, bearings, vacumm lines, and anything that looks worn or close to going, I'm replacing. The heads are going away this summer to be cleaned up and ported and polished. The bigger things that are going unto the engine is the 1x cam from Intense Racing, and the SLP headers. Yeah yeah i know what I have to do as far as the headers go, but i want them.

Thats pretty much it for now, but thanks for the comments

I would love your car so much more if it only had a stock hood. Otherwise, keep up the good work.
