All tools needed to take apart Interior in Cavalier
Thursday, January 29, 2009 6:58 PM
I purchased the car with all panels in the back seat and it half taken apart.. now when putting it all back together I am missing a bunch of nuts/bolts etc... I found a wrecked cavalier that I can take the entire interior so I will be doing that this weekend can someone give me a list of tools I may need to take apart the interior so I can label nuts/bolts etc while taking it apart?

I know about the snaps and panels that come apart by just yanking on them I am looking for most sizes for screws/nuts holding panels together.

-7mm socket
-SHORT philips head screwdriver (for defog vent)
-flat head screwdriver (for prying out tabs)
-extensions (hard to get to bolts in bottom of center console)

if you want to take out the main plastic dash peice, you'll also need
-10mm socket
-13mm socket

if you want to take out the sun visors and headliner, you need a torx bit.. I'm unsure of the size but its pretty small

9/32 for most of the dash.
philips screwdriver for door panels and dash defrost vent
10 mm for console alot of extensions. not sure of the lenght but i used 1 longer one and 2 shorter ones.
13 mm for seats
back seat does not have nuts or bolts.
rear seatbelts are 3/4" bolts i believe.
front seatbelts are torx bits. you might need these off to get the headliner out. idk i never taken one out..
and a smaller torx for the sunvisors.

the kickpanels/door seals are just clips so are the a-pillars

Appreciate it! I should have all of this out this weekend and tranforming into my interior.

John... that 30 pack of beer might be enough to get me through "half time".

I'll make sure to bring that.
