Steering wheels..
Thursday, January 08, 2009 2:31 AM
Are there any other steering wheels from other makes/models what will fit in a J?
My steering wheel is worn out and looks like crap.
Before I go and look for a new one, I was wondering if there are any other wheels I can use?

It's a very easy answer, but you have to learn how to use something called the search button.

I did search, all I found was after market steering wheels.
I'm looking for other stock steering wheels.

ya know, you're right, since you've been on here longer than i have, i should just expect everyone to be an @!#$ to me for initiation, right? pull your head out of your ass, and either answer his question, or don't, instead of wasting everyones time.

I put a wheel off a 97 grand prix into my sunfire like this one http://mcss383.smugmug.com/photos/81115386-M.jpg mines an 03 sunfire but with a column from a 99 beacuse i wanted tilt. if you have an 03-05 you have to swap the column from an older one inorder for it to fit.

I hate how the stock wheels wear down. once it starts flaking off, it never stops and its a pain in the ass

You can also try looking for Sparco and Momo wheels.

I have a momo millenium evo 2 wheel on mine, with matching shift knob and ebrake lever.

They have a steering hub u gotta buy though (about $80)

and once it goes in, it won't come out. ever.

you've been warned!

^^he asked about stock wheels, not aftermarket.

and either way, it is very easy to remove once you install, so IDK what you mean by "once it goes in, it won't come out. ever."

oh haha

oops. totally missed it =)

I have the Momo hub on mine, and what happens is that if you put the hub in, then the hub stays in. =p

I don't know about theother ones though

But as for stock, then it's just really the sunfire and different years of cavis.

I remember that the steering hub between 95-99 and 00+ are a bit different....my tech told me something about the size/diameter of the bolt and assembly...=p
