Question about dash painting (read the sticky)

Great Sticky to.

Didn't see an answer I was looking for.

I'm considering painting my dash. I'm worried about the flex in the dash though, will regular paint deal with the flex?

what do you mean by flex? i painted my dash and the only way the paint came off was from some one scratching it. im not sure what you mean by flex tho....

i also used krylon plastic paint (i think thats how you spell it) and duplicolor vinyl paint for the top vinyl.

I'm wanting it black, so vinyl die might work . Didn't think of that.

By flex I mean when it flexs' when you take it off and put it back on. I'm not a paint guru and my dad (he took auto body at a local vocational school) has always preached about having to put a flex additive in the paint (atleast when I asked him about painting the bumpers)

yea like i said i had no problem using the products i mentioned. the vinyl paint has to have some sort of flex additive in it cause if you push on it, it still feels like the vinyl top (by top i mean the top of the dash)
