If your mileage readings on the odometer (2001) are starting to fade off where you only see half of the numbers. and chevy says you need to buy a cluster to fix the problem(which is true)...they say that they have to program in the odometer...others say you can just buy a new odometer and plug it in with no problems...is this true??if so it will save me a lot of money...i can change out my odomter myself if i can just plug and play....thanks!!!!

smack the dash..... thats option 1 and make sure its like Ike hitting Tina smack .

2nd option.... Buy a new cluster and plug it in. Chevy is bsing you, the mileage is stored in the BCM not in the cluster. So you wont need reprogramming.

right. another way the dealership is trying to rip you. like bubba said you can smack the top of the dash and that usually works since those clusters are know for taking a @!#$. if not then just get a new one and plug it in. it will show the correct milage.

I hope thats not directed at me. I have never tried to dick anyone over on the JBO, nor will it. I stated the only reason i removed it was because i got a 140mph BCC cluster. @!#$, if it doesnt work 100% i'll refund the money on it.

My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again
