Well I just did a quick search, looking for any information on the trunk latch; didn't come up with anything overall.
I am looking for the part number and a place to buy it.
My current latch somehow split completley in half and has been taped together for the last 2 years. Being that I am getting heavy into car audio, I don't need it to break and fly open. Would I need to change the lock also, or does the line come off and reattach to the new latch? thanks
On my 98, the ltch came off... I had to replace mine because I had to break into it once upon a time.............

Check out gmpartsdirect .com you may find it there. If not go to your local pick and pull (or junk yard) and just get a new-used one (or two) and save yourself some money.
few quick questions.
Is the lock attached to the latch, by means of the cable. if so how does it detach.
I have access to a power latch, would it be difficult to upgrade? Just run a 12v source with a switch right?
cables and rods lock does not need changed. also may find number on the part its self look carfully then try gmpartsdirect.com. yea basically get power u hit the switch and it completes power to the latch which is grounded and then it releases. simple.
alright, I am just going to go with the power release then.
Any specific fuse I should run it off of?
alright so I have bought the electronic trunk release. Just one wire coming off of it, do I wire it to a 12v source w/ a fuse? And what should I wire it to for an idea.
