Ive got 01 cavalier 4 dr 2.2L, Ive got a problem for a while now, Ive got roll up knobs to roll the window up. I findally got around to to seeing whats happening to my window problem. I pulled the drivers side door panel off, Looked window knob thinking it was broken, Its fine, The reason why the window only goe's up properly, Its skipps the metal teeth on the moon shaped gear that allows the window to roll up to the window mold seal. No the advice thats needed, Is how hard is it to replace that gear I know its rivoided in, Then use nuts and bolts for the re-install it. Or just easier to get a another door from wreckers?.

hardest parts going to be finding the regulator (the half moon shaped gear), only place i've found them is the dealership. so yes, a door will be easier, and unless you can find a regulator cheaper than at the dealer, the door'd probably be cheaper too.

yes, just drill out the rivets and either replace them with nuts and bolts or just re-rivet them if you have a rivet gun laying around. I did my driver side door over the winter...took me maybe 15 minutes or so to drill out the old and swap in the new one
