OEM Leather Shift Knob Question
Monday, September 08, 2008 5:59 PM
I'm looking to replace the OEM leather shift knob on my '98 Sunfire coupe with another OEM leather one. I found the part on GM parts direct and it's there for about $43.xx USD. The reason I want to replace the original one is because it is worn (161,500kms will do that) and the leather is now shiny. I want to get a new one so it matches the wheel more (which looks brand new).

Here is my question:

Does anyone have a picture of this shift knob when new? I want to know if the leather is like that on the wheel (very supple and neutral looking). At $43.xx, I want to make sure it is what I want.

Anyone who knows, it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Here are some pictures of mine. It was originally in my '02 Sunfire GT Coupe which I purchased brand new. It's now in my Sunfire Sedan and it's still in perfect condition. I use leather cleaner to keep it clean and supple.

Sweet. I was reffering to the 95-99 leather wrapped manual knob. Doesn't really matter though since the part isn't being made anymore. LoL.
