LED's in cluster and climate control

Hey guys i picked up some 5mm blue leds and was going to put them in my cluster and climate control... i looked around and found a little bit of info but here my question.. i put 2 leds in the climate control and they werent as bright as i thought they would be.. do i need to get the proper size for them to iliminate properly?? thx

i put some blue leds from ebay in my hvac not too long ago and im pretty satisfied with them. (i'll try to snag a pic of them later tonight)

I would try using a fine grit sand paper and sanding them till the leds look "frosted". Thats what I did with mine and it seemed to distribute the light more evenly...

Also alum foil behind the HVAC works great.
