you might have better luck with the pods closer to the edge of the dash by the bezel. i think back by the center defrost vent is a little too far back. give it a shot though and see what you think. do a mock up of it first
nice idea but use a Scooby(WRX) gauge pod. It fits in the center vent area rather nicely.

Depending on what sized gauges you are going with, they will probably be very hard to see.
is the wrx bezel an exact fit to the original center vent? i found one in carbon fiber that would be perfect for a carbon fiber accented interior.
