How bad is the reflection on the windshield in the day time? Night?
I'm thinking about doing it but I'm not sure how badly it will effect my vision....
I painted my dash black with dupli color fabric spray paint. still looks great after 2 years and the shine is about the same as stock.
Well, I just did the defroster vent, and I have no problems with it at all (painted it red) Day or night, no problems

same here looks great and hardly any more of a reflection(if any)

i painted mine white and the air bag cover kinda reflects but not horrible i used krylon fusion semi gloss white and then a can of clear coat no problems you can see it on the windshield alittle but its not horrible and the defrost vent was great about the same as my air bag cover. but then my defrost vent screwed up you need to use high heat engine paint on that or the heat will chip away the paint and you'll have to buy a whole new one trust me its to much work to try and sand it down. so if you paint it use the hight heat paint.
depends if you are just painting over it or if you are going to smooth out the plastic into a fiberglass texture. My dash pad is fiberglass and the trim piece along the windshield is smoothed out like fiberglass. It gloss black and candy red...the glare isn't too bad, but as a daily driver it can be slightly blinding some days if the sun hits it right.
please dont paint just the center defrost and air bag cover. if you do please paint the whole top dash pad the same color.
i painted mine satin black and its not bad at all..
just dont paint it wight it has a bad reflection like a piece if paper in the window
