the little black button that goes in when you close the door and pops out when you open is broke, it doesn't pop out when i open the door, so i have to pull on it to get it to pop out. I noticed this because my aftermarket radio would shut off when u open the door when u turn the car off and now it stays on until u turn the radio off or pull the button. Okay my question is can u buy this part to replace it? I tried to find out if it comes off but couldn't figure it out, this is on my 2003 cavalier. Thanks

have you tried some lube?? my door pin on my 89 sunbird used to do that all the time... hit it with some silicon lube spray and it never did it again...
I just had to replace both of mine in my Sunfire. I got 2 new ones straight from GM for like $8 bucks each. All you need to do is reach in behind the metal ( there is an access hole through some rubber sound deadener which the wires run) and there are just plastic tabs. Squeeze them together and they will snap off and then pull the door jam switch out through the front. Disconnect and swap in new switch. It will just snap back into place. When you go to close the door, it will adjust itself ( don't freak out if it sounds like you've just broke your new switch. It makes a noise which may make you cringe that you did break it.)
okay thank you! yeah i tried grease and like break away still sticks.
