B&M Shift knob options?
Monday, June 23, 2008 3:36 PM
I have the 00-05 J manual short shifter, and my shifter is scratched up. I was wondering what options I have for a shift knob? Does anyone know the thread size?
Hell, if I could get this engraved knob, it would be superb.
Any help would be great

They have a black leather knob that fits. There was a post somewhere on here about it.

last thing I heard from Karo is that they never produced it, even though they have a part number for it and everything. Karo was supposed to start stocking that knob.

I've been dying for one. I hate having to take my shift knob off everyday when I come into work to keep from a B&M brand in my palm.

I know they made it, because a few people have them. I think APlus, or TTR had a couple. I was going to get one, but did not.

The only back leather knob I know of, is the one on the SS Cobalt Shifter. And from my own efforts, and what I have been told, B&M WILL NOT sell the knob seperately

Again there was a post on here, they did have one that worked on our shifters. One of our JBO company's had like 3 of them, and sold them the last time this was brought up. They might not make them anymore now, but they were made.

I found the engraved original short throw knob.

Others that I wonder if it will fit with my short throw with the reverse lock out.

I would like this, but I don't know if it will fit? Knob fits M10x1.5 mm threads only.

Any input guys?

Not too sure on the thread pitch of them but these momo shifters are made for liftup reverse lockouts. Unfortunately imho they are the ugliest of the momo options :S
Hopefully these links work:

Momo Module:

Momo Race Airleather:

Momo Sphere:

btw they are very expensive...

Isotta Puma and Isotta Asfalto are two other reverse lockout shifters that might work and actually i think they look pretty good too! nice leather and half the price of the momo ones...http://www.yakuzaracing.com/en-us/dept_66.html

Haven't seen any pistol grip style ones like the hurst knobs though. We really do need more options.

B&M had a shift knob that was well liked... I don't recall the part #. The discontinued it though, and our suppliers had run out quickly.
