Could someone with the factory cargo net give me a measurement of the length and width please? I bought one off e-bay and it seems way to long.Also, does it goe across the low part of the trunk opening? Do the clips go on in place of the plugs that hold up the carpet? Man,seems like a simple thing but I have never seen one in use.Thanks for any help!

you replace the 4 plugs with the 4 retainers the net is a little and does sag. Then again mines also almost 10 years old so it could just be age showing.

mine does not sag at all and is very tight.... then again I never use it and I doubt the previous owner did......
I've been wondering about a cargo net ever since I got my 05 SF. I never could figure out how you'd mount it.
When I was putting the sound-deadening material in my trunk, I had to remove the net plugs/retainers whatever-they're called. After I was done and re-installed the trunk liner, I couldn't get three of them to screw back in (feels like the holes are stripped or I'm trying to go into the wrong hole). Has anyone else had that problem?

it's really not that hard. there should be two hooks on each side of the trunk...you stretch each corner of the net over each hook...

2 of mine do that. I'd go with the stripped theory, but I'm no expert on the subject, just my opinion.

Thanks - your suspicion is the same as mine. My quick fix idea now is to:
- Get nuts that fit the threads on the retainers.
- Pull back the liner.
- Cut away about 1/8 of an inch or so of the sound deading material right around the stripped holes.
- Sand off the paint on that exposed sheet metal.
- Then center a nut above each hole and epoxy it to the sheet metal.
- After they dry, I'll put back the liner and then bingo - have something firm for the retainers to screw into.
I thought briefly of just trying to get the nuts behind the sheet metal and then screwing them onto the retainer threads, but given the construction of the trunk rear that area is difficult to access.. Hence the "glue 'em on in front" approach.
