Looking at replacing the carpet in my 97 Cavalier. It looks horrible and everything else looks great, so it would be worth replacing the carpet. I had the carpet steam cleaned and while it did turn out a lot better... it's still yucky.
Obviously you have to remove the seats. Is there a big trick to this? Without examining the situation, it seems like you could just move the seat forward and back to unbolt them, and maneuver them out.
Does the center console have to be removed, too? If so, is it extremely frustrating?
How about the back seats?
Thanks in advance for all input...
think about it, its not hard. the carpet is obviously on the floor of the car. whatever is setting on top of it will have to come out. seats, rear panels, carpet retainers and center cosole. its not a very hard job at all. center console has 4 bolts i believe that hold it in.
Shouldn't take long at all... Seats, Console, sills and panels around bottom of floor.
Where did you find your carpet I may have to do this soon also?

its not that hard once you get started it should all work out without a hitch.
id say once you take out the old carpet your gonna find out right away what needs to be removed. take out the old one then you will know for sure. i just purchased a new carpet recently from stock interiors from eBay and installed it myself in about 30 mins or so, looks great.
