Before I go take the dash apart can anyone tellme if i can just swap the Bezels Out, I need to replocate the HVAC to the bottom but im not sure if its a direct unbolt > rebolt deal?

So... JUst swap the Dash pieces and the HVac will mount right up?
No, i actually believe you have to swap everything. I know Cody from RD Fabs is doing the swap.
Everything Like what? The Bezel and what else?
The whole dash needs to be swapped.
The lower dash is Identical im 99% sure so that cant be right.
if its a 98, they wont be the same
if i'm not mistaken, the radio sizes are different - 95-99 is DIN 1/2 and 2k+ is double DIN
so as benny said

ya, you gotta either swap the lower dash, or cut the @!#$ out of it to accomodate the new placements of hvac and radio
Well Poo, super gay.... I even have a Crack Free dash!
Looks like Ill be doing a bit of glass work instead!
thanks!
Yea, i have a perfect dash myself. Pre-00, but swapping dash has a corner crack where when my donor car rolled itself the a-pillar put a nice crack in it. Little fiberglassing and it will be all good.
You also need the metal support bar from 00+ car to make it work as well.
Yeh Ill probably just Relocate the HVAC to the Glovebox.
Looking to do a 97 Sunfire dash to 03 Sunfire dash. Do I need to swap the whoooole dash too?
I'm pretty sure I've heard a few people say that the mounting holes for the gauge clusters are different between the 95-99 and 00+ models as well, and aren't the 95-99 Cavalier clusters a different shape than the 00+?

It depends on what part of the Sunfire dash you are swapping to. If you're just wanting the top dash pad with the round vents then you won't have to swap anything but the top dash pads and maybe the vent ducts if you're really picky (95-02 vent ducts will work fine with the new dash). If you're wanting the lower part of the dash with the double din stereo then you'll need the WHOLE dash. If you have any other questions about it just shoot me a PM.

Not 100% true
.
I swapped to a 2004 in my '97 without such. I just had to modify the center support to allow room for the radio. The majority of the other mounting points lined up perfectly. In doing so though I thought the floor support bar for the passenger airbag, which the car no longer had anyhow so I didn't mind. Otherwise structural and mounting wise it worked out great.
Figured I'd share, though yes
you might as well swap it all.
Any questions feel free to PM me, I also had the trunk button from the '04 wired and working.
i just swapped my dash because of the dreaded crack. i have a 2000 and i put a dash out of a 97. unless you want to cut the main part of the dash, you must swap the whole dash. also the clusters are different as far as the mounting and the connector.
