now this may sound weird

i was wondering if there is some sort of pad i could put in the "din" of the center console. I am talking about the part that goes under the dash a little .....or maybe better described as the little "dish" part behind the cup holders. I want to stick my ipod or my cell phone in there without it sliding around and getting scratched. Is there something out there that works really well? or would it just be easier to go to wal-mart and buy a cheap mouse pad, cut it to fit and throw it in there? or would that be too thick? i was just wondering what would work best and whats out there. thanks

they make small pads (6 x 6) that go on your dash for that purpose. you could cut one down to fit the front of the console. i think they sell them at walmart in the automotive section where they have steering wheel covers and other interior stuff.

yeah..and auto zone or advanced has the "type-s"? or "type-r"? (i forget) pads that will almost fit in there perfect. but the mouse pad idea would work as long as you got it cut the right size.

on mine i just used your typical black speakerbox type carpet. just cut it to fit and used some spray glue to hold it down.

If you don't want stuff to slide around in there, Wal-Mart used to sell some rubbery stuff that's used to hold things in place without an adhesive. I can't remember what it's called, but at the store in our area, they used to have it over near the contact paper and such. It kinda looks like a waterproof doormat or something, but it's really flexible and made to be cut. It would work well for something like that, and is really thin. They've got some that's perforated, and some that's not, which would probably work also. Just try to get something that doesn't look all wrong in the car.

go to any hardware store or walmart or auto store get the stuff they use for tool box sliding draws it keeps tools in place when opening/closing the draws so a ipod should be nothing and it really grips
