You can get a shift boot from any manual car 00-02 (not sure about other years, but 00-02 will DEFINITELY work) and it will snap into your console. You just need to remove the ring around the hole, the oval plastic ring, and it will snap right in, I did it a while ago when I had my auto.

I recommend shortening the shifter as well if youre going for a nice clean sexy look, it was nice looking in my sunfire, Ill send you some pics if I can find them.

Good luck!

I really don't understand the trend of shift boots and shortening an automatic shifter.

Can someone explain...

The boot WILL NOT just snap in. The hole for the auto shifter is not as long as the manual shifter consoles. I put an auto 2000 up console in my old 98 Vert and had to drill a hole up by the cupholder for the boot to snap in.

I too used a factory 2000 - 2005 graphite manual shift boot on my automatic Sunfire. I got it from GM Parts Direct for less than $30.00 shipped. The part number for it is: 22630142. As previously stated, you will also need either the top part of the console from a 2000 - 2005 Sunfire or Cavalier with manual transmission or you will need to drill a hole for the front piece of the shift boot to snap into since the top part of the console is different from automatic to manual. I also suggest shortening the shifter at the same time because it will add to a cleaner overall appearance.

Yes, it does look better I guess, but this looks even better.

I just don't understand why if you want the look of a 5 speed, just get a five speed.

Whatever though not my car!
