RK Sport Fiberglass spakerbox
Monday, January 28, 2008 9:33 AM
I just discovered this was a back seat box, not a trunk box...and while being a little overkill on having capacity for 4 12" subs, I'd still consider it for the price. Does anyone have a picture of this installed?

If anyone has an experience with one,

-how does it handle rattle?
-are the holes precut?
-quality of the fiberglass?

thanks!

its not a box, its pretty much a cover. you have to build a box for the subs. the holes are not cut out in it.

that's still pretty sweet though. so when you say you need to build a box, that means there is plenty of room underneath the fiberglass down to where your subfloor is?

also, side note, did you get that rollcage from gravana tuning? does it interfere with your fiberglass at all?

If the holes aren't cut out, and say I only use two of the sub cutouts, would they interfere with possible coaxials in the other spots? just thinking...

THANKS FOR THE PICTURE!

that last reply kinda confused me.

so Joe, any info you could gimme on that cover? I don't quite get how you could build custom boxed under that, it seems like you'd almost have to build a FLOOR underneath, instead of a box, so the whole thing is one huge sealed enclosure?

joe's reply was pointing out that stripped cav (who posted the pic) said the car wasnt his it was MMS' personal car. the dude joe quoted still asked questions on how well the products fit, etc. joe was pointing out that a little reading comprehension goes a long way and prevents a person from looking dumb because that person didnt read.

i believe joe has a custom made sub box and not the RK box pictured. thusly, the only info he could give would be second hand info, something that you could get yourself by searching the forums for topics on the sub box.

coming back in 2008...

it a little tricky to get in the car u remove the rear seats and the latch hooks on the deck where the seats hook onto. take out the front two seats(temp) and the center console to allow enough room to get that beast in there. it takes up the entire back. yes there is plenty of room to built a box for the subs. not really so much a box more like a dome for the side ones(if applic) and can do boxs for the rear. the mold fits great and looks great aslong as shipping doent stress it. i got it in cf. like stated to holes are not pre cut so if u only want two u can do that. ive seen the roll bar on a cav it doesnt tought the encloser just like it doesnt touch the rear seat if it was there. as for rattle i had it yet i removed the subs and put foam rings under the subs helped big time. also u will need to secure the unit good cause if u dont it WILL slide ALOT in turns and stops due to the weight of the subs.

So as far as being a "bolt in", are there preset places to bolt it, or is it kind of a "fine a good place and start drilling" application?

thanks for your feedback, by the way.

kinda find a spot and go for it however it does have a large surface on the top rear that if u drilled into ur rear deck can bolt to and cover with the srews with the rear deck cover. and where the lower rear seat clipped in it has been molded around them so u could work off them.

Gotcha, so lots of good bolting points. Sounds like a viable option, I wish I could just see more detailed pictures of it, and what the box underneath would need to look like.

Big plans for the '04 Fire.

All I need are is Time (sigh...)Money(sigh...)Know-how (workin on it!)
