Gauges.

I am thinking about getting some gauges for the cav, probably volts, oil pressure, maybe fuel pressure? What gauges would you recommend? No big motor mods I would just like to keep an eye on things.

Anyway what kind of gauges do you recommend, there is so many different brand. I am looking for something that looks good and is reliable and inexpensive, like I said no big mods so i don't need the best there is. What would you suggest I get gauges to monitor?

Thanks!

Ok, I am very new to add on gauges. So this is going to be a very dumb question, what all is involved with installing a volt meter, oil pressure, fuel pressure gauge? Do the guages come with everything you need?

I was looking at the Autometer Ultra-lite series, they look good and are reasonably priced.

Any better things to gauge other than volts, fuel and oil pressure?

Thanks!!

I wouldn't go fuel pressure. I'd go with Volts, Oil Psi, and Oil temp or trans temp.

why trans temp or oil temp over fuel pressure?

I would have loved to have a fuel pressure gauge when my fuel filter got so plugged the car died completely, which in turn killed my fuel pump, and fuel pressure regulator. Would have saved me a lot of money.

No one has experience to tell me whats involved with putting gauges in?

volt meter is simple. 3 wires (power, light and ground)

as far as the other 2 im not positive but if you search in here you'll figure it out. im sure both require a sender

they come with what you need to install them. and some basic instructions most of them arent very detailed. but 9 times out of 10 you need more wire to run the gauges.

Autometer would be the way to go on guages. Also get the guages you feel you will use the most. Oil pressure for sure, the volt guage is nice as times to see if your system is running right but probably will be the guage you use the very least. (unless you have a system) If you beat the hell out of your tranny then the trans temp is nice as well
