I got bashed till I couldn't be bashed anymore last time, so I started a new topic.
Sorry.
This is phase 2.. I got more painting done.
Its slowly coming together(also I fixed the piece next to the dash, its sitting correctly behind the pillar now).
I learned a few things from this...
DO NOT let your friends help you paint(note the spray next to dash, by the door and below the pillar)
Tomorrow I have to get more paint and remove my doors to paint the whole lower half, and the gray handle/grip.
and if you'll notice in the first 3 pictures, I lost the vent for the passenger side.. which was laying on top of the dash behind the tach. duurrr
I really want to paint that piece against the windshield.. but everyone says it doesn't come out easy. Oh well.
I also blacked out the day light indicator and shift light.
Let the flaming begin.
I'm proud of my car. lol whether you like it or not :-p
ALSO....
whoever it was who warned me about painting the arm rest.. you were right. Big mistake...

it doesnt look bad is it just wet sanded and painted
i know thats not glassed the picture makes it not so glossy
its kewl i got bashed for my car alot
but i didnt like the way it looked anyways
good luck
no I don't like the glass/CF look.
I just cleaned it very well, put on a small coat, waited about 5 mins and put another coat.
The smaller parts took 2 or 3 coats, the larger parts I put between 4-5 coats.
I don't like glossy. the more it dries, it starts to even out and turns a flatter color.
PS I got the shifter on right, I didn't notice it was on backwards last time...
Also, I'm currently on my way to vacuum it all out.

center vent and the small little vents on the top dash need to be left the same color as the dash
Why did you only paint the bottom half of the pillars? If you were trying to do a cut off, to leave the top tan.. you chose a very unintentional looking way of doing it.
I don't know man.. if it looks good to you.. don't worry what anyone says.. but to me, it looks tacky. That shade of blue clashes with the tan in my opinion.. I guess the main thing that's bugging me about it besides that, is the pillars being half painted and half left alone.
I wish I left my tan interior alone
I want it all back to tan
looking good so far but did you even remoce it all from the car it looks like you just taped everything off and sprayed?
also why did you choose that colour are you painting your car? cause it looks like it clashes HUGE, but again the main thing is if you are happy thats all that matters
Yeah everything that was painted was removed.. the only spray that happened inside was when my friend thought he'd be helpfull and spray the pillar going alongside the dash(which was INSIDE the car as you can see), which is why its.. well looks out of place.
So I guess now I'll try to clean that area up, if I can't, I'll paint the rest of the pillar.
Tomorrow I'm going to paint the doors, clean the car.
The blue looks brighter than it is in person.
Its pretty close to the factory aqua teal outside, which is why I chose it.
Its a few shades lighter, but its a pretty close match.
And I actually like the tan/blue combination.

well my opinion it looks tacky as hell...
as long as your happy withe it tho..balls out.
hey man. goo gone of goof off works good to remove paint
i got bashed on ALOT for my interior. because my outside of my car is yellow, and the inside is red. But its soon to become carbon fiber in the inside. but i still have red racing seats and what not. i like it though. i like the color. not my favorite, but still like it.
A-pillar/carpet retainer on the driver's side isn't put together right where they meet.
Wiring coming in from the fender into the interior! Classy. There's a grommit on the firewall where the main harness runs, use it. Along with that exposed tach wiring......if you're going to drill holes to mount that on the dash, might as well have drilled a hole for the wiring too.
As for the overall look I think it's cheap and tacky. That's my opinion though.
for the arm rest.. i also spray painted mine.. big mistake.. but i got some blue cloth and decided i'd cloth it myself. It was easy just take it off the car take the back side of it off throw the cloth on the rest shove it under the back cover side and you wont notice anything.. it looks fantastic and feels a lot better than the paint

That was me. I read that you were also going to paint the door handles on the inside, if your not going to clear them or unless you upgrade to a better quality paint i would advise against painting that too it will wear off. A lot of people around here (including me when I was younger) like to paint anything that will come out of the interior, so I have seen what can happen. Also the carpet retainers was probably a bad idea because those get a abused a lot getting in and out of the car and will probably scratch up real easy and end up looking really bad.
