how do you remove it to put a new one on?
your fairly new so your best bet is to start reading all the faqs before posting. the faq here in the interior forum covers this for you.
since you a 98 there is a U clip in the front of the shift knob. take a flat head and pry it out. once its out you can just pull it off.
